yharnam, an ancient gothic victorian city that is the home of the mysterious medical remedy to the plague. over many years, countless desperate travelers have entered in search of the cure only to seemingly never return from its streets. appearing rather grim and decadent, the yharnamites are turned into demented citizens and beasts by the deadly and peculiar plague.

the labyrinthian of a city's culture became based mainly upon blood, even adopting blood-based drinks that surpass the consumption rate of even the strongest alcohol. filled with distrust and hate for non-natives, yharnam is seen as dark and degenerate and is often overlooked on maps.

the most commonly appearing illness of the blood is something similar to lycanthropy, followed by a general mental degradation and physical changes such as lengthened limbs and displacements of bones and hunched spines. though this is one of the most common, the endemic of yharnam stretches much further than simple lycan hunts, reaching even the point of where once respected clerics have become undone by a new beastly form, most commonly taking much stronger, larger, and unique states of being.

despite the cold "welcome" from savage beasts and creatures beyond ungodly imagination, the hunt begins, and hunters do not like to stray from their task. their dangerous and blood-stained cleavers and blades have a fancy for meeting the skull of a beast, and they will always gladly take a tooth as a trophy as proof of their feats. yharnam's league of stray hunters do not dawdle under the pale mooonlight, even when the red moon hangs low..
