The Lapidary Guild is the faction most focused on commerce and industry. They have enough production power to manipulate almost any market to suit their preferences and needs. They rarely actively engage in conflict, much preferring to quietly fund certain factions, through which they fight proxy wars. By virtue of their position, they have a subtle but undeniable hand in what literature gets published and what remains off the shelf.
