A fellow traveler tells you that the town of Serpent's Crossing was built on the only swath of stable ground in the vast expanse of swampland on the outskirts of the forest. His definition of "stable" concerns you. Even in the center of town, the ground beneath your feet seems to sink with every step. You feel much safer on the platforms built over the swamp's murky waters. Well...maybe not that safe...
