I rolled for the categories and rolled "Healer Titles" which I'm fine with. The first one I rolled was apothecary which didn't match her quite right. Then I rolled and got Witch Doctor which seems great to me! "Keiba was born in the harsh frozen wilderness. To survive she quickly learned to access the power of magic that ran through her blood. With it she could calm crying children, take away pain, and heal scars that had lasted for years. An incredibly uncommon power among ice dragons she became a cast out and called a witch. She didn't mind the title though. All it showed was that those who had rejected her didn't understand her great gift. And why not, if they were going to threaten her she might as well be what they want..."

For forum games: feel free to choose from my hibden too!
Joining the party a bit late with this old dragon thats been sitting in my hib den! Day 1 - Name. Rolled for letter, and got U. Used the suggested site, and after rerolling once (then again because FR did not allow the second name) ended up with Urho - "hero" in Finnish. Day 2 - Profession. I tend to make my dragons inspired by either food or d&d monsters, so I decided to roll a monster from d&d beyond. First roll selected a plant monster, then I narrowed it down and got a Jammer Leech. These barnacle-like plants attach to the hulls of ships and feed on the magic that powers them There once was a great, heroic creature who, channeling the power of the arcane, saved the lives of a colony that lived on Sornieth's moon. Their ship was memorialized, and used in yearly festivals to celebrate this great occasion, making a round trip around the sun's orbit. That is, until a slow infestation of barnacle-like plants began to overtake the hull. These plants were devious, and were not discovered until they had become impossible to remove. Eventually, the ship became uninhabitable, and the locals mourned their lost tradition. That is until the yearly festival came around again and, miracle of miracles, the ship came to life on its own, making it's traversal around the sun. The plants, feeding not only on the magic but also the heroism imbued within it, had become a hivemind set on living up to a legend. They called themself Urho.

First I rolled a letter and got H. Then I counted up all the jobs beginning with H and got 40. Then I rolled a number between 1 and 40 to get my job title! So I wound up with 37 which gave me Haruspex. Turns out that job entails examining entrails for omens. So. Not exactly the vibe I would prefer to bring to the table here. But in the spirit of things I will stick to my guns here. Xerxes is now a Haruspex! After some consideration of how to alter their profession to be more in line with site expectations, I've decided that he will be reading omens from bugs and plants because those are less upsetting to people when squished. Xerxes reads the fortunes of the next year's harvest by reading an omen from the first produce picked. This gives enough time to prepare for any misfortune that will come to be. He also reads the splotches left by squashed fruits, vegetables, and insects. Dragons present him with a portion of their own meal for him to read their fortunes from.

Day 2: All In A Day's Work I started by using Reference Guide To Dragon Titles/Classes and immediately ran into the problem that my lair actually has a very strict hierarchy and a newcomer is not going to get to be second-in-command! So I used a "reroll" - first one free! - to move to 40 Jobs In The Middle Ages and rolled 21 which is... Servant. Oh dear, that's not going to work either! Another reroll, this time 25, anointed her Tailor, which is going to get progressively funnier as her bio fills out. It took twenty four hours for the clan spellweavers to undo the first of the spheres, and out popped - a basket full of thread, wool, ribbons, and half-finished outfits. "Oh!" Ling said, as a small cat unearthed itself from the middle of the pile and immediately started tangling the ribbons up. "My tools! Of course! I remember now, I was a seamstress, a tailor, if you will. I travelled around from place to place to offer my services to those who needed sartorial improvements. I must have been ambushed on the road." "Well, we don't have anyone who works with clothes," Hirael said. "And you are safe here. Welcome! How about we get you set up in the north alcove, there's lovely light there and plenty of space for your workshop..."
Let's see what RNG has for us! I went ahead and used the Reference Guide to Dragon Titles/Classes for this one! A small funny here, but I missed that the first category were all alternative names for clans, so I thought there were 17 categories! So technically speaking, if I'd rolled 1, I'd have realized this before I'd gone and rolled with what I thought was category 10. So, I thought I'd rolled the teacher category, and rng picked #30 out of that list (storyteller), and I was going with it, typing and all, when I realized my mistake. I do, however, have an interesting way to incorporate both into his lore! Due to all the work put in, Paltiel's current occupation is a storyteller. However, early on in his life, he was a welder (real category 10 was craftsmaker, real 30 was welder). How did he go from one to another? Well...
The wildclaw is careful as he rolls up a scroll, tucking it away on a nearby shelf. He'd just finished telling stories to some of the younger hatchlings, and most had been picked up by their families by now. That was the thing, though. That one little word: most. A coatl hatchling sits nearby, humming to herself as she fiddles with a bookmark. Her folks were a bit late, by the look of it, probably working later than expected in their trade. That was usually the case with this particular batch of hatchlings. Sometimes the fish just weren't biting, or a customer was far too keen on lingering in the shop after it had officially closed. It wasn't the little one's fault, and he was willing to stay until her parents came in to pick her up again. He stretches up to put the remaining scroll on it's proper shelf, wincing with a soft hiss as he does so. He doesn't notice the humming stop as he settles back down, deciding the scroll can wait just a little longer. Perhaps when someone else was there to put it back on that high shelf- "What happened to your arm?" Paltiel turns to look at the coatl, his eyes glinting softly in the lamplight of the library's reading corner. That sweet little singsong voice had no malice, nor disgust. It was just the curiosity of a young hatchling who didn't quite know everything about the world yet, nor how to word her questions without upsetting others. It wasn't the first time he'd been asked this, and he knows it won't be the last. At least he has experience, and is more than prepared with his answer. "Y'know how us lightning dragons work with electricity and all that magic? And the stories I told you all about the high spires of the Shifting Expanse? Well, I used to help repair those spires, using electricity to melt some metal and hold them together. One day, though, I missed the metal. Hit my arm instead, and accidentally dropped right off the side, just like the little spider in that nursery rhyme in the rain." The hatchling stares in awe as he holds up his arm, showing off the lichtenberg scar running along his arm in a pale, branching pattern. Even held up like that, the arm shakes a little, struggling with the strain of being held aloft at all, but he doesn't seem to mind it. He gives the hatchling a little lopsided grin at that, lowering his arm again with a chuckle. "Thing is, electricity and lightning magic put up a fight with everything they hit, including a drake like me. Leaves quite the scar, that, fighting what might as well be magic itself. Arm's been wobbly ever since, an' I had to leave that work for younger drakes to do." He watches as the coatl beams at that, turning to her bookmark again and using a talon to trace a pattern on the silk. He can't help but notice it looks a lot like those branching streaks on his arm, as if the little one is tracing her own bolt of lightning before her. She even murmurs about how "cool" it must be to pick a fight with a storm, an entire element, and win! ... Maybe he should tone the story down next time, before hatchlings decide they can fight other elements. The last thing he needs is an upset parent lecturing him because their child decided to have a staring contest with the sun as their fight against light itself.
Can't wait until tomorrow! And, just to be clear, don't fight electricity people. You aren't gonna win that fight.
