after almost 6 years, i finally decided to scatter my random progen because i want to breed him with my custom progen without creating ugly green children

i got silver / crimson / oilslick. i love edgy colors sm but... they still wouldn't make pretty kids... :,)
now idk what to do. has anyone else had this oddly specific problem

Yes. I have several dragons with tolerable colours, but they would use a scatter scroll. Not good, but not bad either. They are not in urgent need for scattering and just exist right now. Not sure what I end up doing with them.

I have a G1 I bought with a special ID number that was scattered a few times into a close-range XXY. Normally those colors would be nice but...they don't fit the theme I have for the dragon, but I'd feel terrible scattering, so I just slapped a skin on and try to ignore the colors. xD

Since it's your progen, I say keep scattering! Make it a fun project and goal to aim for.

Haven't had the same in the sense of needing them to make pretty offspring, but the first egg I hatched, I swore I'd keep and make something great of him.

He started off as being mismatched purple colours, one being the plague of Mulberry, and then the scatter I used had him still with Mulberry... so I only got a 2/3 scatter. Then after my friend gifted me a new scatter to save me from the trouble, he managed to become more decent with Slate/Seafoam/Abyss, but even then I can't find something I'm happy with out of that.

I've dedicated him to being that one dragon I'll just blow gems on to be the eye-catcher G1 I'll really love, but it's definitely difficult when I'm easily displeased with a lot of combinations and colours, because when something halfway decent pops up, it feels more safe to keep that then run through a million more combinations I'll dislike more.
The idea of going through that much in gems is just daunting when there's more things I'd like to invest in. But I also want him to be a pretty boy.

I can't bring myself to scatter again, just hoping for some sort of savior tert. I've got two scries that are alright, but do I want to settle for "alright"?

I wouldn't scatter over a double... I would just resign myself to the ugly children. But that's me. The kids can serve a higher purpose.

Personally, for long-term couples (such as progens), I prefer big/"interesting" ranges. They'll probably have dozens or hundreds of kids together, and you're probably only going to keep a handful (plus you'll want space for mates and grandkids...) so it's fine if many/most wind up ugly. The few you DO keep will be more unique than if you had a close-range pair.

(also I didn't know cherry breakup was so pretty wow)
