alfkasdaksdjf;akldsf I LIVE OFF MAKING FAN DRAGONS sorry for how many I'm about to do here. not even going to do all of them LOL. A big part of OG!PIDW Binghe's character is the moral blackening he went through after being thrown into abyss by his teacher. In the scum villain version of his character, while he doesn't quick 'blacken' in the [I]same[/I] exact way, he defintely changes. Our protagonist is an unreliable narrator, but we can see from people's reactions to him that he defintely still had some,,, soul corruption, I guess you could say? Also, in the abyss, binghe is able to escape because of Xin mo! Xin mo is like this sword that's feeding on his soul and making him like super bloodlust-and-regular-lusty. Which is why I gave him the regal bladebearedr as a familiar and the raven broadsword!The rhinestone relic and the sinister presence were along the same lines! also! binghe is the demon emperor, so I thought that the weaver's radiance skin really suited him!!! and ofc his background looks like the abyss!!! imperial breed really fits him :3 [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/86300740][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/863008/86300740_350.png[/img][/url] introducing shen yuan! this is the protagonist of scum villain and also luo Binghe's husband! color wise, his character is very much associated with the color green since that's his peak's uniform colors! one of his first fights has him weaponsizing leaves which is why I gave him spring's breaths and the blossoming sash! I also had to give him a cool sword because he has one in the book! shen yuan is also a huge nerd. he got stuck in the book because he was an anti-fan reading PIDW so I just had to give him the book piles! he's also always holding a fan so I just had to give him one! the little hamster is symbolizing his best friend :3. ALSO I had to give him the mushroom background since he has his stint living in the mushroom body he grew for himself! he just had to have the graceful coatl breed! I'll hide in in some ice cream. anyway, this dude like is dedicated to the white-clothes look. def had to make his body all white! okay so, proud af of the skin! so, chu wanning was like carved out of like magic wood, vaguely Pinocchio style but like more gay and tragic. so I had to give him the cherry dryad lotus skin! the silver sylvan fit was like just so perfect for his regal-untouchable-nature of his robes. also, he gets so much horn-dog prose from mo ran about his hair, that I had to give him some lol. I gave hi the frost delver as a familiar because he likes to make robots! I chose Flutter to represent his hair the best I could, plus it’s also dirt cheap. The orignal plan hade Carmine (the name of his sister) as his primary, but I could not find an active dragon with that colors combo. He wears a white hoodie (hence the White secondary) with blue accents, which I had planned to mimic using Carmine Fade, but Tomato Candy has some blue, thankfully! Light eyes match his eyes the best. (although Rare is a little more accurate and Dark Sclera gives the slits, Uncommon works well.)

I decided to make a dragon of Pit from Kid Icarus (Uprising specifically)

He's a pearlcatcher because that's what I found in the auction house that conveniently looked like my gene configuration I wanted for him which was anything with a brown mane, white body, and specifically a yellow (preferably Lemon) Filigree tertiary gene. He's not a lemon tert unfortunately but I figure I can use cosmetics to get the red baubles on Pit's outfit anyways instead of relying on genes.
Still working on his outfit though.

I'm new to properly customizing dragons so he's a WIP. But the game has a very special place in my heart and is one of my favorites. Next I'd like to make a dragon based off of the Klonoa series, and maybe Link from OoT or MM.

i normally wouldn't use an ancient for a fandragon because i prefer to dress them - but because undertides have the tentacles gene, i obviously had to because the symbol for Spectre's organization is an octopus

chess as the secondary is a representation of the long game that Blofeld has been playing unbeknownst to James Bond for the past several decades

But it's got an added layer- I'd intended them as an avatar dragon and this was back when I changed my User from my old one to my current one. I wanted a dinosaur, I really like dinosaurs, and finding one that wasn't taken here was rather difficult (who'da thunk that folks on the magic lizard game would like prehistoric lizards? lol). A little around the time the goose game was getting popular Halszkaraptor was making it's rounds around dinosaur tumblr; It had just been officially described- I believe there was debate prior about the main fossil's authenticity as it had been shuffled around private collections before that? I think? It's been a while. ANYWAY point is, this dinosaur is said to look a bit like waterfowl (and it wasn't taken as a username). The joke name for them is 'murder swans' lol. So basically, a dinosaur goose. Hence the choice for going for Wildclaw over like a Skydancer, Wildclaws being the closest we have to 'dinosaur' being generic fantastical raptors. The color of scales is a bit off, I should've gone more orange to be more true to the game but that's fine. Folks can recognize it just fine. In the game some ghosts can touch windows, lightswitches and doors and leave hand/fingerprints behind which glow green under the purple uv light. Hence the use of the purple-range stained on peacock as well as the glowing clawtips and plasmpool apparel pieces. (Also purple-ranged stained peacock is gorgeous). She's my only? sil scrolled dragon because I wanted the f pose and only an m pose was available on the AH at the time. An attempt at recreating the banescale cups as dragons. Both initially utilized crackle because I liked the splattered effect it gave, like the glass part was shattered and the liquid got everywhere. [font=cambria]hearing the thought process behind fandragons is one of the BEST things on this site i swear. i've had a great time reading through these even though i recognised basically none of them. i know blofeld lmao. i put so much into my fandragons i kinda don't even know where to start lol [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/87385218][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/873853/87385218_350.png[/img][/url] sarah fier is my most recently finished fandragon and i had a LOT of fun with her, actually i was shocked i didn't even need to do a breeding project for her! so colours: tbh the only thing i knew i 100% wanted was the orca secondary because it looks like ghosts, but as i worked through different scries i was like no i also need the antique ghost tert. obviously. she's haunting the narrative. need the ghost. antique over any of the other whites because, you know. 1666 was the year she died. it's... it's [i]antique[/i] lmao. and gloom for the name as well as how well the ribbon matches both the malachite and the tert. gloom right? her story is a tragedy? it's gloomy? i'm not very smart. the outfit is very self-explanatory: pauper bustle because she didn't come from a wealthy family, the shirt and mantle match her outfit in the movie. the book is the grimoire that caused all the problems in the first place (yikes), the flower crown for the red lichen or whatever it was that grew in all those symbolic places. and, of course, the grasp because she's writing the story FROM THE GRAVE. her hand is all over everything i'm so emotional about her i love these movies. [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/61066932][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/610670/61066932_350.png[/img][/url] and just one more okay i'm stopping at three. this is bastien. he's technically a fandragon for the player character in greedfall and, to be clear, i don't think he's necessarily the best greedfall dragon i've got but i was SO happy with his outfit and colours even though i just happened across him in the ah. he's got a lil bit of white in the outfit because he wants people to think he's this nice pure fellow, the black and blue with gold is meant to show he's wealthy and has a pretty high opinion of himself, he takes pride in his appearance and reputation. but then there's the juxtaposition of the banner on the wings: he's got a nice, rich boy outfit except for that. maybe that's a warning sign? the little spots of red throughout? are they foreshadowing danger? his poor choices? all of the above!! anyway i think i had a weird stroke of genius when i did his genes. i don't remember if he came with stained but i know i gave him python: he's two-faced and i loved the two-tone look of python. python is a snake, he's deceitful and manipulative, perfect. but the stained was what really brought it home for me. with that stain, he's this glorious, golden boy, so pretty and lovely and shiny. but if you change it to basic? he's so drab and kinda ugly [s]okay not really UGLY but you know, bland, not nice, very meh[/s]. as in, he puts on this very nice face, but if you look underneath he's not a nice person. it's a thin veneer of civility, but as soon as something gets between him and what he wants, he'll drop that facade to get it. i also had something to say about the horns... rams horns... devils... but they're white so maybe it's okay? idk i'm tired bye

pitchfork is a sandsurge because of their solitary nature, jupiter is supposed to represent wood grain, the male pose is because of pitchfork's aggressiveness, chitin is for her spikes, and .i bought diamondback on accident but i kept it because it looks good. i find her familiar to be particularly inspired :) i really like the flower symbolism she's got going on

here to explain my deepest cut!

serge is the silent protagonist of chrono cross, so the decision to make him a coatl was based on vibes alone. it's more his scene and familiar that get to be explained.

the use of the lynx as a familiar, as well as the name "wazuki," is a reference to serge's father, wazuki, aka lynx. lynx is a major antagonist and anthro...lynx.

as for the scene, it's a coastal town, perfect to represent the starting town of the game, arni.

it's been super nice to see everything about serge come together!

okay i have to talk about my favorite stinky man for a moment too. this is the drifter from destiny, probably one of my favorite characters in anything. is this unfortunate? yeah kinda. but i love him.

maroon ribbon/eel matches the red/black base perfectly, and mirror was the top choice for him. m mirror pose has a lot of character, but more importantly, mirrors are constantly hungry, and a part of the drifter's nightmarish backstory is repeatedly starving to death and coming back. mirror was perfect.

Nil from Horizon Zero Dawn is meant to look and act about the same as in the game. Wanted to experiment with what a warrior with amnesia would be like-- someone who has a very clear (if abject) reason for why they do what they do, would be like if they forgot what had made them that way.

Syncer is a fandragon for Syndrome from The Incredibles (lol). Instead a human with no powers and a generally normal if not very vengeful person, he's a dragon with no magic, a big exception to the norm and born in unfortunate circumstances. He's a pearlcatcher because funny tall hair .

His main color scheme is red and black, but he's also strongly associated with brown (it's his hair color and the color his dialogue is written with). Sanguine Falcon gets the colors of his outfit pretty well, while Latte Constellation is pulling double duty--along with getting the colors of his hair, it also represents him being the Herrscher of Stars! Sparkle tert for the same reason, and of course his apparel is for his prosthetics, as Owl is 74% cybernetic prosthetics in canon.

Raven doesn't have a lot to say tbh. The gray belly you get with black Basic works well to recreate the look of her black cloak and gray bodysuit, with her secondary being the underside of the cloak. The real highlight here is her Multi-Gaze, mimicking the eye-like studs on her outfit.

I am the only Owl fan you'll ever meet, probably. His main color scheme is red and black, but he's also strongly associated with brown (it's his hair color and the color his dialogue is written with). Sanguine Falcon gets the colors of his outfit pretty well, while Latte Constellation is pulling double duty--along with getting the colors of his hair, it also represents him being the Herrscher of Stars! Sparkle tert for the same reason, and of course his apparel is for his prosthetics, as Owl is 74% cybernetic prosthetics in canon.
