Oh, I saw stargate atlantis a long time ago! the regular stargate too. My memory is fuzzy but I do remember Atlantis having a cool vibe.

2 Great games and a fabulous TV show, made by Hideo Kojima.
Pretty much dead in the water due to Metal Gear's popularity (People only bought the first game in order to get the MGS2 demo).

I've heard of Stargate Atlantis! a fic author I used to be a fan of wrote a crossover with Stargate Atlantis, I should look that up again, it was fun to read.

as for me... I'm not really active in any dead fandoms, tbh. my current main fandoms are both ongoing series. but in one of them I'm a big fan of a previous area that hasn't gotten a lot of attention lately, apart from an event storyline, so I guess that counts?

Fandom that's small, niche AND dead? I got one, Hornblower. It's an older TV miniseries based off the Horatio Hornblower book series by CS Forester. If you like stuff in a regency setting, this one is worth checking out. It's not a fandom I make content for but I do find myself wishing there was more content for the show.

I've been obsessed to the point of brainrot with the TV show for a while and started collecting first editions of the books but very rarely do I hear anything about the show even in history (fiction) circles. When I talk to people IRL the only people that have seen it or at least heard of it are generally folks over 50.

Last time I looked for fic of the show on Ao3 a few years ago it'd been a good few years since the most recent fic had been published and most were posted between 3-5 years because the show had a too brief popularity spike on Tumblr.

I don't think it's known enough for there to be any discord servers.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to shut up about this series due to my peabrain being unable to function correctly, but... Fossil Fighters. Or at least it appears dead to me, it's not like I'm actively looking for fans.

It's so well-known that I can mindblow people by not only mentioning its existence but also bringing up that it's a Nintendo franchise. It has not had a game in ten years (closer to eleven tbh, last game turned ten early this year). Good luck attempting to discuss it online without setting off the Frontier saltmine on the tiny off chance someone knows what you're talking about. I mean, I get it and all, and I didn't like it either, but...

There are multiple others, but this is the one my peabrain always wants to yell about.

Yeah I remember Stargate Atlantis being pretty cool! dunno what I'd think of it now that I'm grown up. I guess I'd probably understand what's going on a lot better than I did as a kid lol. I seem to recall the last couple episodes being a drastically different flavor from the rest of it. Still cool but perplexingly different all of a sudden, like it was filmed/directed by someone else. That's just my memory though, maybe it wasn't quite like that.

As for my dead fandom... hmm. Well, getting into any specific kdrama is like getting into a dead fandom simply because kdramas are usually rather short-lived and quickly forgotten as new ones are constantly made. I don't watch them much anymore as there isn't really a safe free website to watch them on nowadays.. But my personal favorite is Memories of Alhambra Palace. It's definitely not your average kdrama, since, while it does have a romance, it's focused more on action/suspense. Basically it's about an AR game that gets too real. While I do like it for the surface action, plot twists, and cinematic vibes, I also like it for the deep/profound metaphorical side it has, and can relate to the main character a lot in that aspect.

Omg I was gonna mention Fossil Fighters! I miss those games so much, and even if Frontier wasn't exactly what I was expecting, I didn't want the series to just fall off like that! It's such a cool game series, I wish it was as big as stuff like Pokemon, since it derives its creature designs from actual extinct animals, and it tends to have a super wacky story.

As for my own dead fandoms.. I'm in The World Ends with You fandom. Not completely dead, since we got NEO: TWEWY back in 2021, but the fanbase is still super small and not all that active.

Or Pokemon Special, that manga series is genuinely so fun, I enjoy it more than the games nowadays.
