Hiatus notice: This account is mostly inactive for the moment. I don't know when I'll be back to the game, if ever, but I want to thank FR for the great time I've had here for the past 4 years. I hope that this lair can stand for ages to come, even if the era of my oversight is passed.
You journey past the ruins of civilizations long gone, dusty and crumbling remnants. You travel through a sun-soaked forest, gentle light filtering through the leaves. Then, at the center of what would be an otherwise unremarkable clearing, you see it.
This strange, twisting structure is a lair built entirely out of Fae amber. The principles that guided its construction are confusing, impossible to follow in places. Most Fae lairs are built on trees, but if there ever was a tree at the center of this place it has been long since buried within the amber.
When the sun hits the lair, it passes right through. Instead of a shadow, it leaves a glowing patch of golden light. You can see the shapes of dragons moving within the amber. There seem to be a multitude of tunnels and chambers within it, hints of them just barely visible through cloudy layers of amber.
A small Fae can be seen inspecting what looks to be the beginnings of some sort of courtyard. He examines the new construction intently, searching almost obsessively for any flaw that might be present in. For a moment he doesn't notice you, but then his head snaps up, crests twitching anxiously.
His reaction gives the impression that he might be hostile, or at least wary of strangers. But to your surprise, he invites you in! It turns out that his anxiety was less about fearing you and more about fearing for you. This Fae seems to believe that stepping too far into the outside world is just asking to encounter some horrible fate. He all but begs you to come in and rest, even if just for a moment.
Why not come inside and take a look around?
