I think being able to try on an effect to see what a dragon would look like with it before you buy it would be a good idea. If that's already something we can do, I can't figure it out, but if that's not already something, I think that'd be a good idea!
And if not in the dressing room, there could be an Effects-specific place kind of like the Acclaimed Achievements page where you could go try on effects on your dragons, since I know they're shaders and not regular apparel/skins.

If you look at the effect in the game database you can select a dragon to preview it on.

There's no way to preview it on scries, or just dragons you don't own (yet).
It's so similar to skins and apparel it's goofy that they're restricted to the database

I want to second this that I would love to be able to see how it looks on a scry of a dragon I have before commiting so to speak. I don't think it shouldn't be to hard to fix since you'd probably be able to add a similar small windows to the one for accent/skins below it where you'd be able to either import current effect and/or view effect with either a similar system of having to insert the number similar to accent/skins or a Window where you can look for apparels with a search thing and everything.

I would love this to be a reality! I was looking everywhere for someplace to see how a scry of a dragon I have would look!! Especially since I love the effect I have on her atm looks but I want to change some of her genes but I want to see how she looks with it on before I start putting new genes on her.

Massive support! I came to the suggestions forum specifically looking for a post like this. (so I wouldn't have to make one, lol.)
The closest I can come to previewing effects on dragons is through the database, but it's pretty limited, and you can't preview multiple types of effects together (aka dragon effect + apparel effect) And there's no widget for sharing the specific preview in bios or forums, either.

Did they tell us we could do this? I was so confused, I didn't know that was even an option. I still think there should be an official way to try it on outside of the database.
