[center]OOC|IC {A multifandom zombie apocalypse RP} Zombie Types and Lore written by @Catlover422 @Dingasoid @BalticDeerOwl @FRlover1 [u][b]General Lore[/b][/u] In the year 21XX, conflicts between the nations of a far off world had reached its peak. The Magic nations and the Science nations had each been at each other’s throats for what had felt like an eternity and for a large majority of the most recent century, smaller conflicts had broken out in old forts. This has been the normal routine for what seemed like decades due to a general feud between the two nations. This was mainly due to a difference in beliefs between the two halves of the world and general rumors that were spread amongst the governing bodies of each nation. However, this, combined with the animosity of the public would soon lead to the downfall of civilization as the world’s inhabitants knew it. The downfall in question was the result of both nations uncovering a dangerous virus that they could potentially use to end their conflict with the other once and for all. However, in the middle of researching this virus, various accidents broke out which not only resulted in the virus being able to infect several of the researchers turning them into zombies, it was also enough to eventually plunge the whole world into an apocalypse. However, in the midst of this apocalypse, various otherworldly survivors were brought into the chaos by various instabilities in the fabric between dimensions which eventually led them into the epicenter of the apocalypse. Now, faced against a hoard of zombies, the otherworlders band together with the remaining survivors to hopefully find a way out of the apocalypse. While everything seemed to be rather normal, the two researchers were also having a conversation with one another about what to do with their newfound discovery. Some of the other researchers could be seen passing by every once in a while however, when they were not looking, a rather drowsy researcher had accidentally broken the glass vial which the virus itself was encased in. Following this, several screams could be heard in the recording until the footage stops abruptly. [center][b][u]KNOWN ZOMBIE TYPES[/u][/b][/center] [list] [*]Basic - The start of it all. Basic zombies are pretty much the standard zombie that people see in a large majority of TV shows, video games, movies, and books. Many sources tend to describe these zombies as usually being slow, shambling corpses that seem to indiscriminately attack anything within the vicinity. Survivors are usually able to deal with them pretty easily however, should they be allowed to form a horde, the danger that they pose will greatly increase.[/size] [quote = Stages of Infection] N/A [/quote] [*]Crystalbound - The first mutated strain of the zombie virus. The Crystalbound strain seems to infect mages and other magical creatures more frequently than other archetypes of living beings. This strain has almost mystic origins and was first discovered when the Mistborne faction brought a recently bitten Riddle Rosehearts to their base upon discovering him. Everything that the factions know about the Crystalbound strain is the result of studying how the virus affected Patient Zero. It is also worth noting that these zombies also have patches of crystal on them. While cases of Floral zombies tend to be rather uncommon, they are more often seen near locations where magic used to gather. Identifying a floral zombie can be easier said than done since many of them will most often hide when they are spotted. It is often said that they are more docile due to fully turned specimens not needing to eat as much as other creatures. [*]Glacial - A variant of the undead that has adapted to extremely cold temperatures. Glacial zombies can be identified by what appears to be permanent layers of frost that have settled on their hair and clothing as well as icy colored eyes which can range from various shades of blue to various shades of purple. Other eye colors are extremely rare for these variants however, ones spotted with crimson eyes have been documented before. These zombies also seem to be capable of using Cryokinesis as well.
