(( I hope this is a good start ^^ If I did anything wrong just tell me and I'll make sure to fix it :D ))
The Pearlcatcher stood by a simple, wooden cart, leaning against it as she casually flipped through an odd deck of cards. Halfway through the deck she paused when she reached the one she had been looking for. On it was a picture of a dragon, and under it the name Glory. She cast a glance back to the cart, where the dragon featured on her card lay, sedated and bound up. Her card, which she had made herself, held precious little information, and she would have waited until she had more to kidnap the prince had not her partner been so impatient.
Hearing the swoosh of air nearby, she glanced up to see an approaching Spiral.
"There you are." Sinner said, watching as the long dragon landed on the Plague infested grounds, seemingly bouncing a bit before settling. She chuckled and looked up at the Pearlcatcher with a toothy grin. The Spiral, often going by the title of Kira, raised a claw and was about to speak before being interrupted.
"What took so long...?"
The Pearlcatcher's voice was dragged out, flat and dry, opposite that of her friend's, which was more often than not overly expressive.
"Well, it may not have taken so long had you just taken out those guards the right way!" She shot back, but a smile crept back up onto her face.
"They were crafty, took a bit to get 'em off my tail!" She gave a little jolt forward, as though she was still leading their pursuers away. As the slightly crazed Spiral moved forward with her little bounds and leaps, Sinner placed her talons on the cart and started to push it forward along the narrow pathway they had found.
"Hmm...well...good job, I guess..."
Casting one last, cautious glance behind her, she kept moving on, wheeling their captive over the invisible boundary between the Tangled Wood and the Scarred Wasteland. As they moved, Sinner listened as her partner went over in painstaking detail how she had managed to outmaneuver the three guards that had tracked them all the way out to where they were. However her mind was elsewhere, overlooking the details of their plan in case they had messed up, or if anything needed revising. It wasn't the first time she's done this, but it didn't make a difference to her. Had they looked over something?
As the land around them shifted from shadowy fog to red, boiled ground spitting ooze, shapes started to flit around just out of sight, and the odd, faint sounds made her glance around. Paranoia filled her thoughts again. Had the guards returned?
"Hey, Kira, do you see that?" Sinner whispered. She stopped pushing the cart and swept her gaze all around her.
"Hmm, see what?"
Looking back to her friend, she saw her clutching to the sides of the cart, reaching for the glimmering yellow-orange jewels on the Wildclaw's tail and wings. Hissing, Sinner whacked her paws away.
"Knock it off Kira! You need to be serious about this."
Sliding down from the cart, the Spiral raised her claws in mock surrender.
"Alright, alright!" Huffing, she muttered, "I can be serious, yeesh~."
Sinner looked down at the Spiral, ready to say more, when the movements returned. Going quiet, she looked around again before wheeling her cart behind a cluster of twisted, gnarled trees.
"Why aren't we moving?" Kira questioned.
Ignoring her, Sinner moved closer to the plants and peered out between the gaps, her eyes narrowed with focus and her pupils flitting to and fro. Her suspicions were right, something was moving out there.
"Kira, fly up and do a quick scan of the area and lure away anything that may be following us." She ordered. Kira nodded, gave a salute, then took off, leaving the Pearlcatcher guarding over their captive with a paranoid eye.
"Please be nothing...don't get caught Kira..." She muttered, her claws digging into her palms as she waited.
