Nepheyore knows better- stones do not bleed. They simply weather the blows, refusing to succumb. A better analogy is comparing a difficult task to cleaning blood off stone. They are well accustomed to the odious task of removing the stains of those who have stood against them from their own polished form. A loyal and stalwart sentinel, the drying blood may give away their true nature thus losing the element of surprise, but they think that is a fair price for the fear it instils. Only a fool would dare draw close to Nepheyore's clan's lair, lest he find his own blood painting their hide next...

Dread Captain Darumonia

LORE:

Dorumonia was born on the seas, daughter of a seafaring trader. Her mother died in a storm when Dorumonia was young and Darumonia can hardly remember her. However, the sea still called to her blood and at a young teen age Darumonia joined a crew set out for the plague lands. On the way her ship was attacked by pirates whom she thought to be vicious and cutthroat. They took her prisoner but she soon discovered they weren't what they seemed.

Aboard the Wavecutter, the crew was kind of rebellious. Darumonia learned that her previous crew were actually smugglers chartering dangerous biological weapons to the life kingdom. The pirate crew had stopped the shipment and therefore deaths the weapons would have caused.

Darumonia grew especially fond of the captain, a dragon named Bane. Dread Captain Bane became a mother figure to Darumonia, and she inherited the Captain's legacy of fear and control over the open waters. With her pirate reputation, Darumonia continues to uphold Bane's good work in protecting the seas and dragons of Sornieth.

Some, like Pheir, work hard to attain it. After awakening thanks to the earthshaker's gifts, Pheir wandered throughout Sornieth seeking out a purpose. Eagerly he observed and, when granted permission, partook of a variety of clan customs and traditions, from the shrieking wilds to the leviathan trench (he was not a fan of how the water messed up his mane). In the end, it was dragon high society that most called to him, and so he has thrown himself into jovially adopting it to the full. Despite the fastidious care he takes over his appearance (that white ensemble is never dirtied), he remains friendly and outgoing, always having time to talk to and assist fellow dragons. All with undeniable style!

As she has grown she has only gone from strength to strength. Missing dragon and familiar cases are her specialty, but no secret is too big or too small for her to attempt to tackle it. Her loyal four legged friend was a legacy gift, offered to her by an elderly imperial who could no longer give him the care he required. Terontias (mirror contest)

Our lady Queen Terontias has always been--er, apologies. Duchess Terontias. Our lady Duchess Terontias has always carried themself with an air of royalty about her, even though the only thing that's given them their title has been those who vow to serve them. Even then, she refutes it!

She insists that if we must call them a royal title, we should stick with something like Duchess--lesser and more modest than the grand title we'd prefer to use. She doesn't have a kingdom, they argue. They're not related to any royalty at all, they say.

So Duchess is the compromise we've reached. We do our best to respect her wishes, even if we occasionally slip.

You see, even if they deny it, they do have a kingdom. The meadow that we reside. It's a dangerous place and many of us may not have made it through had they not been here to rescue us.

In those moments, we swear fealty to her. And in those moments, we are whole.

Our Queen is kind and gentle and never abandons those who wander lost in our meadows. She's always able to find them, no matter what time of day or season they arrive. It's almost as if something draws her to them... The same way something drew each one of us here...

Autumn is his favorite season. When he's able to blend in with the foliage and collect berries in peace. It's their favorite time to run away. Get lost in the woods, hide in a pile of leaves or brush as the clan searches for her yet again.

It's the time of year where she gets to prove, at least to himself, that he'd be capable of wandering out on his own. They don't need an escort every time they head into the nature that they love. That just because he's training to be a healer, doesn't mean she can't watch out for herself too.

They stay out longer this time than usual. Wander farther than they have before. The heels of a particularly nasty fight with their mentor about their independence always leads to riskier moves.

Eventually, the search parties that he evades and hides from dwindle before stopping altogether. It's a few nights after that when she begins to wonder if she's gone out too far. Or if she's stayed out too long. It's been two weeks, he thinks. Or, it feels that way anyways. Nothing ill has happened to them. They've fed themself and been great at finding shelter. They've even collected a basket of herbs and vines of berries to take back to their mentor and elders as apologies.

Maybe this will show them that he should be allowed to go off on his own whenever he pleases. Maybe this will prove it to them.

More days pass of wandering, heading back to their home, thinking about the scolding they're going to get... But they should be there already. Did they take a wrong turn? No. They know this forest. They've wandered it for years. They went a little further, sure, but not enough to get this turned around and lost.

She circles back. She pays close attention to where she's going. Noting the markers. Noting the familiar trees and plants.

Until he's sure this is where it should be. This is where their lair is. This is where the medical hut was when she left.

But there's nothing but forest.
