Quests & Challenges

The fodder floor hasn't been 6400 t since December, and I'm getting tired of waiting until it does for a more cost-effective fodderlocke. So I'm doing another one. No one says I have to do my daily tasks every day. You can read the original list of rules and procedures [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/qnc/2806527/1#post_2806527][b]here[/b][/url]. The modified d20 rules I'm using are inspired by [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/qnc/2811007/1#post_2811007]Sunsire and their fodderlocke[/url]. Once again, I won't be writing much in the way of actual backstory for the dragons, but there will be a small bare-bones blurb for each of them. And the theme is bus drivers, driving trainees, and working dragons trying to get from A to B. The game is over when one of the following happens: - the driver has no more passengers - a dragon reaches level 17: they win! - I get bored and decide it's over Did some slight modifications for fun. If one gets canned, the lover does, too. 1UPs are ignored. [*][size=2][b]Exact Change[/b] - two random dragons need money for a new bus ticket. Take them to a non-EXP venue (Rainsong and below) and fight until a mini-chest drops, or you get enough trinkets to autosell for 100 [emoji=treasure size=1]. A battlestone drop = both dragons get canned. [*][size=2][b]Fake Bus Ticket[/b] - Grab cheapest adult from AH and leave them at Level 1. [*][size=2][b]Stop for Errands[/b] - Randomly choose 2 dragons to run errands. Raise them both 1 level, then roll a d6 for each. If 1, the dragon missed the bus (yeet it). [*][size=2](Same as 5.) [*][size=2](Same as 5.) [*][size=2][b]Youngsters ride the bus, too[/b] - Grab the cheapest hatchling from the AH and level it to 5 when it grows up. [*][size=2][b]You Stole my Seat![/b] - 2 random (non-driver) dragons get into a fight at a bus stop over who gets to sit on the bench. Take them into a high-level coli venue and yeet whoever faints first. Level up the winner by 1. [*][size=2][b]Driver's Test[/b] - Roll a d10 for each of your lowest-level dragons. If the roll is higher than the dragon's level, yeet it. If the roll is lower, raise the dragon's level by 1. [*][size=2][b]Bus Transfer[/b] - Roll a d12 for every dragon. If the roll is higher than the dragon's level, they transfer to a different bus route (yeet!). If the roll is lower, level the dragon up by 1, OR... [indent][size=2]If the roll is higher, flip a coin. Heads: the dragon fails to level up. Tails: the dragon is yeeted.[/indent] [*][size=2][b]Retired Bus Driver[/b] - Yeet the driver. The highest-level passenger levels up by 1 to become the new bus driver. If there is a tie, use the oldest dragon among them. [*][size=2][b]Supply Run[/b] - Take any two dragons into a non-EXP venue (Rainsong and below) and fight until you get a familiar drop. Any battlestone drop = both dragons get canned. [*][size=2][b]Bus Pass Renewal[/b] - 3 random dragons got their bus passes renewed! Give them a familiar or piece of apparel to symbolize an "extra life". Dragons may have a single 1UP maximum; if somebody is chosen to get a second one, do not re-roll for a new dragon. (When they are randomly chosen to be yeeted as part of an event, remove the item.) Nothing happens.[/quote] The day after Juki the balloon mascot was tied onto the roof of the bus (thus becoming the bus's unofficial mascot) turned out to be a holiday. Sigurd stayed home to relax in a Long hammock. Her student Niku wrote music. The other trainees and passengers passed the day in their own way -- even Juki watched buses come and go at the bus yard.

Though Niku travels to drum lessons to provide another instrument for her band, she prefers the work of songwriting. Poe himself is a poet who works at the post office sorting mail for delivery. Swapping stories and supporting each other has allowed their friendship to grow closer and stronger.

Hopefully tomorrow we can snipe more fodder and get another event in.

The next highest levels are [b]Eros[/b] and [b]Paladin[/b]. So perhaps Sigurd should actually be testing Eros and Paladin to see if they're ready to inherit the title of driver (even though Paladin just wanted to be an actor). They level up to [b]level 8[/b]. Things are looking a bit tense here. If one of them gets too smart, Sigurd will be ousted off of her own bus. Sigurd is equal parts proud and nervous. This bus was like her home. Its passengers were like her family... It would be a shame to leave so soon. Eros is excited to hopefully start a new job riding this bus. It was cheerfully painted and has a balloon mascot that looks almost just like him! He's worked hard to get to this point. Paladin thought he was doing well on the acting front, but nobody has sent him any telegrams regarding if he'd been accepted to be an actor in the play. Perhaps he might need a career change... and since he knows more about buses than he thought, being a driver might be the opening he needs...
