TOPIC | Get certain colours when breeding?
I want an Obelisk dragon with pink primary colour, lemon secondary colour, and yellow tertiary colour for something. Is there a way I can guarantee I get these colours when breeding? Or any other way I can get a dragon with these colours?

I apologize if this is a common/stupid question or if this is the wrong forum.

@fishhes Your first and easiest option is to make an AH search for pink/lemon/yellow. On the Dragons tab, go to the Primary Color dropdown, select Pink, and so on. Here's what you need to know to breed your dragon: In Flight Rising, a random color between the parent's colors is given to the hatchling, for each color slot. It uses the shortest distance across the color wheel- for example, if you had a parent with Maize as their primary and a parent with Raspberry as their primary, a hatchling would have a 1/8 chance of getting a Pink primary. No stupid questions! All questions are good questions.

Now, breeding for colors in FR is... not fun, lmao. It's a bunch of rng and just a hassle to deal with, but overall feasible. Personally, I don't do a whole lot of massive breeding projects because they take so long with breeding cooldowns and all that. @/teddy2008 has done a pretty good job describing it! But essentially, to breed for a certain color, you'll want the parents to be pretty close in color to what you want, on opposing "sides" of the color you want... and then you just keep breeding till you get what you want.

AH searches are of course the first thing to check, but if you can't find what you want like that, I recommend doing the same thing in Dragon Search and sorting by highest ID first. Peek through the first results and see if any of them are fodder/for sale, but not listed on AH. Many people who keep fodder will be willing to sell the dragon to you, but won't have it on AH because they're planning to exalt!

Doesn't appear to be the case for what you're looking for, but you could do a wider color search for parents. A search like this for example.

Since your ideal dergle isn't already available, you'd going to have to start breeding out- lots of people do long-term color breeding projects!

I've just finished my precious metals, and got lucky with my coffee shop dragons. Start pairing dragons with colors that contain your ideals and then.....get to breeding!

I find that some of the breeding calculators are a huge help here.
