I'd recommend looking at the Which Waystone, which should be in the corner of your page. It has some simple things to do if you're unsure about what to do next.
I'd recommend looking in the Raffles and Giveaways Forum for some freebies .w. Just look for any threads with 'Free to new players' in their title.
Side note: Use @ infront of a players name to ping them when replying.
