@dribson

That's cool! I can understand though. I read a lot, but I have a pretty narrow range of what I actually like. For example, I could see why so many people like Harry Potter, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Speak
To Kill a Mockingbird
Romeo & Juliet (which we also read in 7th grade)
The Chocolate War

Sophomore:
Death of a Salesman
Of Mice and Men
Macbeth
Tuesdays With Morrie

Junior:

Fahrenheit 451

Senior:

That's all I can remember, at least.

When I was a freshman, I read Night from Elie Wiesel and that book is amazing yet saddening. I can't remember Sophomore year. Junior year, I read Kaffir Boy, and with Senior year; Hamlet, Obasan and currently The Color Purple

We had to read :

Catcher in the Rye (LOVED IT)
Grapes of Wrath (hated it...torture)
Of Mice and Men
How I Live Now
The Arrival
Julius Ceasar
The Giver
Breakfast at Tiffany's and another book by Truman Copote (loved both)
A Streetcar Named Desire (not terrible)
Mystic River (for a crime fiction class...totally awesome but the class sucked)
Sherlock Holmes (also for crime fiction...hated it)

Probably a bunch of others but I can't remember them.

@Psycho Most American schools are split into three levels. Elementary, middle, and high school. High school last for four year, freshmen and sophomores are first and second year high-schoolers respectively. So most people are 14-15 during these years.

So did you not have tons of required reading? Or was it more they let you pick what you wanted to read?
