genes and others are still messed up from it yeah? does that mean new genes that are getting made/ported to new breeds are also suffering from the green hued obsidian bc i swear i am looking at thundercrack on the f gaoler pose and it looks..... so green. am i insane, chat

It looks green, yeah. I don't know if it's any other breeds with certain genes but this one looks green.

ok i have done some scrying and.
if they know the problem with obsidian why do they keep repeating it in newer genes/ports of genes im SOOOOOOOOO

It’s definitely slightly green!

I have this issue with one of my OC dragons, because I wanted her to have the Dire Kelpie Mane or the Obsidian Unicorn Mane but it just doesn't work with her Obsidian Secondary, no matter what gene I try, so I just gave up and put a hood on her instead. The mane's are slightly blueish or purpley while the Obsidian Secondary definitely has a green tint that just doesn't look right imo

The weird thing is that the Secondary is Stripes, so definitely not a new gene? I don't get it. I just wanted that really dark black ;-;
I think it's one of the usual green shades that can be in Obsidian, the Mis-Click green was less teal more like Hunter.
Here's a link to Undel's post regarding the Mis-click < third pic has circles around the intentional blue-green/green shades that can be in Obsidian (if you open the image in another tab it's a lot bigger).

obsidian has some intended green hues (check out obs shimmer which is done by hand), this looks to be within that range imo
It looks fine to me, though it's kind of hard to say one way or another. With Thundercrack's sheen effect, Obsidian would either need to go pure grey in the light areas, which would probably look flat, or green or blue. But I think green tends to read more just black when integrated with the grays, compared to blue. Obsidian does have that richer dark blue accent with some genes, but with a lot of other genes it kinda just does use dull gray. Black Thundercrack is slightly purple in the same desaturated, grayish way. Obsidian Thundercrack is definitely similar in hue to Eldritch Thundercrack (obviously green), but you can tell the difference. So I don't think we can know if it's intended or not.

i wish this would be a more primary focus for them - the obsidian issue was reported for years without acknowledgement from staff until the misclick announcement
there needs to be more transparency on this issue - which genes are still in the works to be fixed, and why newer genes are potentially still suffering from the issue even if the problem was reportedly found and solved?
obsidian fixes are left out of most gene updates for some reason
