Hi, unsure if effects are able to do this but i thought i'd suggest it regardless
My dark mode extension for google docs will invert the values of any images you put into it, and I think that it would be really cool to have an effect that does the same thing!
My proposal is for an effect that inverts the VALUES of the dragon, but leaves hue and saturation alone.
The following images are examples of this in play.

No support, sorry. This seems neat, but it's really really hard on the eyes.

Same. The first one in particular is ow. Also as someone who does inverted pixel sprites (I edit Pokemon sprites), something that'd drive me nuts is that it's what I'd call a false inversion. Which I've seen a lot of before, and this seems to be just that.
It's insanely petty for that to be a reason, I know but...

For context on "false" vs "true" in my mind, see this Groudon sprite I recolored. First one's a "false" inversion, the second one is a "true" inversion. It doesn't wreck the lineart by making it white (false does that), and keeps the shadows/lights the same. A shadow is a shadow and a light is a light.

tbh if the lineart were to stay the same, i think this would be really cool!! the inverse of the lineart is kind of hard to look at imo but with some tweaking, i think this could lead to some EXTREMELY rad color combos!

This looks awesome I love it

Support with Starday's additions! Lineart, shading, and lighting should remain in tact, but I would love to see an effect like this if it's possible with those!

Fair- I wrote it up while tired tbh; math fried my brain. I remember reading it way, way back so I'm probably forgetting the more precise stuff. Though messing with hues/values is something that could be neat.

No support as I don't think it fits the site's artstyle.

if only the colors are inverted and not the lines/shading I'd love to have this!

I don't see why not.
However, I think the caveats would be:
-lineart shouldn't be inverted
-shading shouldn't be inverted
-eyes shouldn't be inverted
