Strainet approaches you with shambling footsteps, his gait unnatural and wrong enough to set your teeth on edge. There's a primal instinct in your brain that urges you to run, to escape from whatever it is that plagues him. He's slow, but the little hatchlings tumbling around his feet are not. They're all relatively energetic despite the painful-looking splits across their skin. Perhaps their animalistic patterns make them hardier when it comes to tolerating such discomfort... but that's pure speculation.
"Ah. You." Strainet's voice is flat and rough, garbled like he's spent the past few weeks eating rocks and destroying his throat. He swings his tail around in a wide arc, sweeping the little hatchlings together and pushing them forward in a little cluster. "You have a home? Take them there. They need one."
The hatchlings look up at you with wide eyes, suddenly nervous now that they're faced with the prospect of impromptu adoption. The Skydancer ducks her head shyly, while the two Ridgebacks puff up their chests in an attempt to appear larger and more impressive despite their visible ailment.
Will you take one in?

LOOK! New children! And wow, they look different! But there's no fooling me, the infection is just adapting. It may look like more natural patterns, but there's no mistaking the mold patterning on the wings. These are not truly consumed infested, like Beatle himself, but they carry the infection with them and can continue to spread it across Sornieth!
