yup, titles right! odd or unconventional or non traditional ways to eat foods is this thread, whether you're saying what you do, asking for new ways, or just wanna share what you believe to be a really underrated thing, why? why not! sounds like a fun thread

i'll start with something very tame, i prefer to eat cupcakes or cakes if they're frozen, the texture is just better that way

so nori (those sheets of seaweed) tends to be used for sushi right? ive never eaten sushi in my life. i just put nori onto my butter breads between the cheese and meat and just eat it like that. i get to yap about eating algae (i still get a lot out of just that) AND it adds some nice taste and probably vitamince

the paper wrapper on a cupcake is lowkey better than the cupcake itself

@PixelSpiral your spiral does look like it would make a nori sandwich BUT i will also try it one day on like a deli sandwich or something and if i remember this thread i will @ you again and let you know how it was

I have a lot of food sensitivities and can't be as silly with my foods as I would like, so instead, here's something that is apparently unique to the Netherlands:

"hagelslag", basically chocolate sprinkles, is something we eat on bread. that's a breakfast food, some people even have it for lunch but I don't like eating sweets for lunch so I don't do this.
an even weirder food that is also (afaik) unique to Dutchies is "muisjes", specifically "beschuit met muisjes", when a baby is born. I don't even know how to explain "muisjes", it's kinda like anise sprinkles but not quite? look it up if you're curious.

genuine question because i'm going to try this, do you toast the bread for hagelslag or butter it or anything

When I eat bread, I eat the crust first then the rest of it. I’ve always done it that way

Putting oreos in the fridge/freezer is pretty good and really underrated but absolutely no one ever knows what I'm talking about. Learned they tasted good when I was in elementary school over 15 years ago, they'd just put our snacks in the walk in fridge in the cafeteria and the oreos always tasted way better like that so I'd always grab them. I haven't had it since though, I should try it again.
