lammergeier is named after the bearded vulture! he was one of the first dragons i ever owned on the site, and is the first i ever added a gene to so he is very near and dear to me--he also started my love of aberrations :] i love how thylacine works with tapir/blend on him <3 bearded vultures are a favorite of mine and to me he certainly looks the part to me!

lanius is named after the scientific name for the shrike family--Laniidae! she reminded me specifically of the loggerhead shrike. shrikes can be.. a bit gruesome but have fascinating behaviors/diets--even though they aren't included within birds of prey, loggerhead shrikes are opportunistically carnivorous; so i think lanius can count for this theme hehe
