I'm used to Mick personally (and i think its funny that his birth name/new zealand name is Mun-dee, besides his name technically being 'Mun-dee Mundy', its also a reference to Superman, his whole backstory kinda is and its Hilarious to me) but oh Willis is something I'm gonna have to get used to... I wonder where they got it from!
I'm alright with not knowing spy or pyro's names personally because I feel like it fits them more to have the mystery. and personally i feel like i would've ended up being disappointed with whatever name they gave us lol. i'm sure somebody knows spy's name, but i'm alright with us- the audience- not knowing! I'm curious about Heavy's last name though, I'm surprised we didn't get that!

speaking of comic references... it got pointed out to me a while ago that all of the comic covers are references to other popular comics!

i wonder if comic 7's cover is a reference to batman? that was my first guess considering the dead parents... i saw somebody point out that the reason we get three versions of the cover is because... the administrator doesn't remember how her parents died. ohh my god... i really didnt expect the backstory pages with the administrator, they're so gorgeous and really emotional to me... really good stuff, i cant believe it came from tf2 of all places!!

Yeah the artwork of the Administrator after getting her initial revenge was both touching and beautiful. Some of the best we got! And about the cover variations: that's what came to my mind right away once she said the truth, but darn if they aren't good.

@TheMedic OHHHH i've seen so many and i think they're hilarious. oh god the herbie car one, i havent seen that before im obsessed. the ones with the herbert cat have been sending me into laughing fits tbh.

he definitelyyy has a fun gender thing going on!! i personally have multiple interpretations co-existing in my brain at once, and trans medic choosing the name herbert is sooo funny but deeply fitting. yeah, he really would do that. what a goober.
(the alternative that his parents named him that is also sooo funny to me. how much do you have to hate a baby to name them herbert LMAO)

im getting used to the name despite all my bullying teasing, imagining heavy calling him herbie is really cute to me. oh those sappy old men <3
at the end of the day i like it wayyyy more than fritz, which is a popular one i've seen floating around, so i'm fine with his silly silly name lol. cant believe his name is herb and bert. pick a struggle! /silly

guess who went on to reread the comics then all the official animations after the sevent issue and is now going crazy. yup I'm officially back to my tf2 phase.

honestly there are many things I could talk about. it actually makes me so happy to see this thread active + the reactions when the issue first released. I was going crazy with a friend in a discord chat and my brother was like "I hadn't seen you this excited in weeks". I find it very sweet that this game holds a special place for most of us

and for the issue itself? they did the tv series epilogue ending... honestly the best way it could have ended. elaborate found families my beloved.

it's cute that pyro's dalmatian made a comeback. also love how medic is taking care of the baboon like it's his specialest son. the kind of behaviour I would expect from him tbh

I might have teared up a little spy's talk with scout's kid. that's his grandchild and she will (probably) never know that's his assassin grandpa... also also the best way they could reveal his face imo, it's like he knew he wasn't in danger anymore and he could be himself with his (unaware) family... ough

I know the lore is written like a joke mostly but I also really like that it's a story about letting go of things. the whole austrialium search, admin getting her revenge but still going on to the point she does not remember why she did it in the first place, and of course the whole mann brothers drama. it was for nothing in the end, and it was their mercs that ended the fight and was able to start anew.
also also the whole admin sequence literally gave me every feeling known to man and I'm gonna be fr I'm still a little confused about things. I will. give it another reread with a clearer mind (this is what I get for reading at 2 am)

and lastly. the name reveal. who on the earth decided to go for Herbert bro. HERBERT?? I've seen it on this thread a day ago or smth and it's all I can think about medic now. but ngl after seeing the herbie nickname I could get used to it I think. it's just so goofy
