Hi, to start this I'd like to say that I'm still a failry new player. I don't know a lot about the site, it's history, or the culture around it. So if this has been heavily discussed apologies for that!
I'm not sure how to moderate it, but I really enjoy the level of personalization that skins/accents can bring me. Especially with my very colorful, soft, candy/sweets themed, and overall whimsical choices.
But I think it'd be nice to be able to have more very fun and colorful scenes that match your dragons more then some of the scenes provided by the site itself. I'm sure something like that is asking A LOT, but I think it'd be fun! Especially with those of us with a bit of an addiction to UMAs lol

No support for custom scenes. Scenes are large rectangles without any line work or shading to limit them and it would make if very hard for them to moderate and police for art theft and innapropriate content, especially when we consider all the skins and apparel that would layer over them.
On top of that, scenes function like apparel and actively depict locations around sornieth. They should very much stay within the site art style. I can sort of understand skins being different because they're basically tattoos, but that's enough art that is outside the site's official artstyle. Scenes are very large and would be very jarring and chaotic, otherwise.
I do heavily support design and coloring contests for scenes and vistas. Where users can submit designs and some are chosen to be drawn and created by the official artists, and other contests where they give users the lines and shading and allow us to color them, like familiar contests.

Support, but only if they came from contests (like color a familiar contests) and are able to be gotten from gameplay

I'd say if this was for a like scene contest ala the familiar coloring contests of old, I'd support but.... No support for a situation ala UMAs. UMAs go for thousands of gems at times- I don't wanna run into that situation for scenes.

No support for this reason. It'd be so easy for any random player to upload any image from the Internet - that alone would take so much time to moderate. But on top of that, any artist could recreate settings that belong to other properties. Now, FR staff might be able to pick out a Hobbit door fanart, or the Epcot ball, or TARDIS - but what about Hiraeth Manor, or the Wild Realms, or Aftzaak? Lesser known IPs deserve the same amount of protection as well-known ones, and it isn't feasible to expect the small FR staff to spot every attempt to sneak in a fan art instead of an original piece.

Pings are disabled.
If writers are supposed to "show not tell," why are we called "storytellers" and not "storyshow-ers"?
Much though I like the idea in and of itself, no support. I'd be worried about the chances for art theft both in the form of just grabbing from artists and scenes from less-known IPs and in the form of ones made with generative AI.
Design contests could be fun, though. Probably easier to moderate given the limited amount of time on them.

no support due to the previous worries of art theft, but aswell as art style consistency. everything on the site has a style unique to flight rising and have distinct color choices, linework, shading, etc. the artists that work on these official items probably have spent lots of time trying to keep the styles consistent across the site, and a contest like this would bring in too much variety that would lead to inconsistency, which isn't what staff would be looking for when adding new content to the game, i assume

Sorry, I'm going to have to say no support for custom scenes for the reasons other users have already brought up.
A scene colouring contest in the same vein as the familiar colouring contests FR hosted in the past would be a nice option though!

I’m a bit torn. I honestly can think of times where the slight breaking of site style would be very cool and matching for dragons.
Imagine parchment-textured scenes, scenes inspired by mythology, scenes which look like paintings, etc. and there are currently only 95 scenes in the whole game (and with how lairs can get to 700+ dragons, that’s very few). Scenes take a lot of work and I’ve seen a fair few suggestions asking for more scene. But I wouldn't want every dragon with a UMA having a custom scene, that would get chaotic and conflicting.
Perhaps the solution is to host site competitions for scenes rather than opening it up to everyone (as suggested). I would support that, and the site staff would be able to moderate how far from the usual style is acceptable and hopefully scan for art theft/require full progress photos for proof of work.
