The list of genes that our Aether variant friends can have has also been updated in light of the recent Aether gene expansion. The new terts are [b]Diaphanous[/b], [b]Blossom[/b], [b]Branches[/b], and [b]Angler[/b].

@Wolfspeaker just found this subspecies and, I have to say, they're absolutely gorgeous!! I might try looking into getting a pearlcatcher in the right colors and write some fun lore about them being the descendent of a lone Pearlcatcher botanist that wandered up the cliffs and stumbled upon the Windflowers by chance, fell in love and decided to stay, and then my descendent eventually going on their own adventures and settling in with my clan in the Sea of a Thousand Currents <3 <3 these dergs are so lovely and your lore is so cool!

@Corviddae Thank you so much! It makes me so happy that other people are enjoying my subspecies. :D I've poured a lot of time into these guys because they're just so fun! Your idea sounds so neat, a botanist falling in love with the Windflowers is super fitting and cute. I do have some modern Brightsongs hatching tomorrow and Reedsongs in a few days if you want to grab one to breed change into a Pearlcatcher. Triple Grapefruits are pretty easy to find if you want to get your own, but Gf/Gf/Chartreuse is trickier.

@Wolfspeaker I just found a spiral female on the AH for pretty cheap, and she already had one of the right tert genes and wind eyes, so I think she's going to work out lovely. Just gotta get the right secondary for her and a breed change, neither of which will be hard <3 then, we write lore

just stumbled upon this subspecies after a hatchling I bought off the AH turned out to be one and oh my god?? this lore is so fun & whimsical and the dragons are beautiful too, I love it so much [emoji=aether star size=2] will def be buying more once I've got the funds and space

@Wolfspeaker I know this is stupidly late, but I'm working through my ping backlog and just want to say that I love the lore around this subspecies! <3 I feel like the majority of subspecies are just kind of 'yeah they look this way bc those are my favourite genes and colour combos. where did they come from? uh idk why does that matter I'm just hatching them from these dragon pairs it's not that deep' [size=1]no shade to anyone who has a subspecies without lore, I'm just a sucker for some good background, lol[/size] meanwhile you're just coming up with this encyclopedia entry on their origin, behaviour, diet, different breeds... also the justification for certain breeds, like with Undertides, 'what are you talking about we've always been here you just weren't paying attention' lmao. adore their look as well, they're so gorgeously vibrant. I've got another [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/72681072]Undertide permababy[/url] so they'll definitely be BFF (speaking of Undertides, I love the idea of hatchlings, regardless of where their parents are, always having a Maren companion/protector around bc they're baby and endlessly precious <3) also I love how you actually got Peacock to not just work on that Fathom but look insanely good?? I find that such a difficult gene to work with, lol, but it looks so nice on her I just might get me a scroll [emoji=special eyes size=1]

@Beatoriche Ahhhh it always makes me so happy when other people enjoy my subspecies! (I love your username, by the way!) Windflowers' core concept is pretty simple and light-hearted, but I couldn't resist trying to give them more lore anyway! I was working on key locations for all the different variants, but ran into the dreaded issue of naming things, my worst weakness...

I LOVE the mental image of big Fathom dad and their little happy noodle baby! Satis is adorable too. This is lowkey inspiring me to create some Windflower-themed Maren NPCs, to be honest... maybe that can go hand-in-hand with the 'map' project, once I've got names figured out.

I've actually breed changed Petaldance so she can be the female in my new modern Brightsong pair! So I'll probably be giving her Peacock :) Though I like her as is too so her mate might get it instead! Either way you should be able to get Fathoms with Peacock in the future. Though if you don't want to wait, you can always gene up your own! Brightsongs are so much easier to work with because the AH is always full of triple Grapefruits haha.

@Wolfspeaker oh my god NAMING THINGS. yes. Flamemama help me. I very often turn to classics literature and mythology for naming things, but I've now been on this damn site for so long THAT I'VE KINDA RUN OUT OF GOOD NAMES.

like one Nocmas I hatched 12 eggs, one for every element and one Nocturne, AND I HAVE YET TO NAME ANY OF THEM BECAUSE I CAN'T FIND A PROPER THEME ;___; and they'll be turning FIVE this Nocmas lmao. there's so many dergs in my lair you might think I don't care about bc they've been 'Unnamed' for like 2 years BUT IT'S THE ONES I CARE THE MOST ABOUT I NEED THE PERFECT NAME FOR HELP.

yessss, protective Fathom dad was exactly what I had in mind <3 he'd be the 'looming, looking over your shoulder to watch your every interaction with his precious girl' type parent, while the mum would be the one that's all kindness and smiles even as you eat the cookies she's poisoned for glancing at her baby in a way she didn't like :')

...I guess it's a good thing she's a permababy bc that girl would NEVER find herself a mate that survived longer than a week lmao

I'm too broke atm to gene up a whole derg, but I'll eagerly be awaiting Petaldance's offspring!
