I feel like it would only be worth it if you want a full familiar collection or want one for the novelty of it.

I already said no to the KS familiars and if I wasn't there for the first Light festival, I wouldn't have a Light Sprite today and would write it off like the KS familiars.

I'm not very ambitious, I guess.

And there is always the possibility that the Sprites may come back eventually, even tho I don't think they will, but the possibility is higher than for the KS familiars since they promised their backers that KS fams will not get a re-release ever and stay exclusive. So like others said, maybe go for one of those instead?

It depends how into familiars you are. I could buy one now if I wanted to but I still can't justify the cost - but that's only because to me those gems could be better spent on multiple G1s. You could probably buy a triple G1 for that amount of gems instead, and I'd rather have a cool dragon than a cool item. But not everyone would agree.
If I chose to get one it would be after I completed my XXY wishlist, or I'd just end up liquidating it to bid on another G1.

If it's the only expensive item you want, then I'd say it's a good goal to have though! ^^

personally no; i'd rather save up for something priced a bit more stable since constantly moving goalposts are... exhausting.

As much as I'd love to own a Light Sprite since I'm a big fan of my flight and owning as much Light themed things as possible... It's far beyond what I'd be willing to save up for a single item. I'd rather buy a whole bunch of Luminous Haloes or Light Auras

No, the price is absolutely insane. If you're not really into the sprites, don't waste years of your time trying to save up and buy 'em. Playing games shouldn't be a chore, go spend your treasure/gems on something you actually enjoy instead of throwing it at a bunch of overrated, overpriced old familiars.

if it’s worth it to you then it can be a fun goal to grind for, it’s really just up to you and how you want to spend your money. for me personally i’ve never been that interested in the sprite set or expensive familiar collecting, i’m content to slowly collect the cheaper bestiary and spend the little money i make on dragons instead. it would be fun to have a fire sprite because i’m in fire, but im not committed to that at all. it’s up to you and your own goals. definitely keep what everyone else has said with artificial inflation and price gouging on the AH in mind though. you’ll probably be able to find a cheaper light sprite through trading

I have one sprite I got by accident from my OG flight. I would never seek them out on purpose.

If you really like the familiar then all power to you, but I personally would go for almost anything else. KS, G1 imp, idc. The inflation rumors plus maybe a chance it could one day be added to Jox and stop the AH nightmare it is right now? I'll pass lol

I'm saying this from the perspective of someone who was here for the original Brightshine and Did pick up a Light Sprite at the time, and who awakened it before trading it off for a character on another site Significantly before the prices got this high (at the time it was only sitting at around $100 in gems) - If I ever get a Light Sprite again, it's going to be through Roundsey or usermade raffles or something. Honestly, same for the rest, too. I'm content at this point with getting the ones I haven't awakened saved in my bestiary through Fiona, and using my gems on more personal projects - Dragons, accents, art, that sort of stuff. Especially as a free player, unless staff reverses the decision to permanently retire them, I'm content with just dropping some treasure on Roundsey for a chance when they come up and calling it good.
