Slither is my best "make it work" dragon. Murk/Robin/Cinnamon is a TERRIBLE combo, but it's what I got from the Aether release, so I had to make it work somehow. I thought he'd have to have a basic tert forever until Carnivore was released! Thank goodness for it!

Glacianne was another one I had trouble with. She was originally born as an Aether, and I just couldn't gene her right with her colors. I don't remember where I got the idea to breed change her, but I'm so glad I did!

[b][color=teal]Dante[/color][/b] is probably my biggest example of this! He was one of my birthday hatches last year who I didn't think that much of till I started messing around in the scrying workshop. I love when the accent colors in genes bring everything together!

Easily one of my favorite dragons in my lair! Just wish I could settle on a skin I really like for him :')

[b][color=Darkred]Alm[/color][/b] was another all basic G2 find! iirc I was looking at Primal eyes on the AH for funsies when I found him-- Plague is probably my favorite of the Primal eyes, & the fact he was green & red-range colors to fit the theme excited me. It was still a bit difficult to settle on genes I liked, since mint is such a cool green, but luckily crimson icing's accent color tied them together!

I hope it's ok to have more than 3 images as long as it's just sharing 3 dragons as per the rules -- I feel like one of these dragons is really warranting a before/after to show how I made them work, haha.

FIRST: Shyogana!
I don't really remember the circumstance of why I bought Shyo, but she really didn't work for me at first. In fact, I almost sent her off during a dom push one month -- but for some reason, I felt really guilty about it, and I by some miracle managed to cancel her CR [i]RIGHT[/i] before she got taken (the rest I'd sent had already been accepted, it was literally a last second save). And boy am I glad I did! The genes she has now absolutely make her colors work in comparison to how I got her.

So the hardest part was finding dragons that failed the Basic/Basic/Underbelly test— so often even the weird combinations I was going, "No, but actually, it's not that weird…"

Thamnophis, though, unquestionably deserves to be here with Plum/Copper/Pear, relying heavily on yellow accents and Mochlus in particular. I was so excited when I found Thamnophis, but I'm well aware that it's not a color combination most people would be excited for!

She's Moon/Carmine/Robin, where Moon would be neutral except that Pinstripe is adding greens to the mix as well, and unlike the other two it ended up one part me loving her colors and genes already (to this day, I do not know why, and it's been five years now) and one part finding an outfit to pull the color balance more evenly all over her body.
