The TL;DR setting for my clan is most of them had a calling to go to the plaguelands from all over Sornieth by the Plaguebringer herself whispering to them. They don't know for what purpose they were brought here or if theirs is the only group, just that they are unable to leave, as attempting to stray too far out of her lands will cause their bodies to shut down. I do have a more in-depth explanation of what's going on if you'd like it & think it would help though! :D
