Both the hat and the bag are embroidered with the Water symbol front and center. Many thanks to @Ogord for making the title banner and subheaders for this event! And thank you @spaaade for sending me that video of a pelican's cry when I asked what pelicans sound like. I'd also like to thank @dreamclaws for running the OOF WaveSat hub and @Arelia for running Water's IF WaveSat Hub (and for being patient with me while I got this thread up). And of course, many thanks to YOU for reading!

I hope this letter finds you well. A thousand apologies if it arrives late - this is my first time sending mail by carrier pelican, and delivery times from the Leviathan Trench to the shallows tend to be long even without a sea of clouds descending upon us. Ah, but I should introduce myself properly before I get too off topic. My name is Marina, and I am an Undertide from the Deep Sea and member of the Tidelord's Exalts who has been chosen to represent the Water dragons among our ranks. After we Undertides reintroduced ourselves to our kin in the Shallow Seas, I found myself frequently interacting with both dragons and Maren from the surface in the role of a diplomat, facilitating cultural exchange between the Deep and the shallows. I eventually ended up joining the ranks of Water Flight's Exalts to further my ability to meet dragons from other flights and share the wonders of my home waters - both the Deep, and the Sea of a Thousand Currents as a whole. This brings me to my next topic: the role of Water dragons among the Tidelord's Exalts. While dragons from all flights and of all elements fill every type of job in our ranks, we Water Exalts do have a very important responsibility specific to us: we are the diplomats of our flight, serving as the faces representing the Sea to those from outside Water. Whether our clans are located in the depths, the shallows, the shores, or even the clouds, it is our duty to welcome visitors, to share and teach them about the many different aspects of Water and what we have to offer. At the same time, we must also be inclusive towards dragons from other flights and willing to learn from them. It was for that very purpose that we began Letters from the Exalted in the first place: to showcase how dragons from all flights can thrive as members of Water's Exalts and how Water Flight benefits from their skills. My, I seem to have written for much longer than I originally intended, and the hour grows late. I will have to end this letter here if I want any chance of it reaching the surface before the first day of the festival ends. Still, I hope the letters written by me and my fellow Exalts will serve their intended purpose. I wish you all a wonderful Wavecrest Saturnalia. I'm one of Water Flight's Exalts and the dragon chosen to rep Wind Flight for this year's letters! TBH, there's nothing super special about my early years before joining Water - I was born to a family of kite makers in the Millmeadows, but while I inherited the family love and talent for art, I lacked the family contentment with rolling meadows and spinning windmills. I knew from a young age that I wanted to see new vistas beyond the bamboo-covered steppes I grew up with. I ended up wandering into Water during the Wavecrest Saturnalia, and WOW those guys knew how to party. They also have lots of beautiful and unique environments that are a joy to paint: sunny beaches, sunset horizons, colorful coral reefs, dark murky depths - I could go on all day but TL; DR, between the fun atmosphere and gorgeous views I fell in love with the Sea of a Thousand Currents and joined Water's Exalts so that I could stay in the SoaTC and support myself while working as an artist. In fact, art is how me and my fellow Windies are helping out with the festival this year! With the sea of clouds showing up this year, most of the Water dragons are a bit out of their element, so to speak. Fortunately, we Wind dragons are more than used to moving through the clouds and are able to give our non-Wind colleagues some pointers. But my real favorite part is using wind magic to shape the clouds however we wish! You know those carefully-crafted clouds you can see all over the place that are shaped like different kinds of sea life? That's our work right there! Pretty impressive, right? Anyways, I'm sure you want to get back to checking out all the WaveSat stuff, so I won't bore you with my writing anymore. I hope you have fun this week, and that you enjoy the wonderful art and decorations that we made as well! ~Kaze Reedbrush @pinglist-27053

I am Ourobora, originally of the Worldedge Wetlands of Nature Flight, now of Water's Exalted. It is a pleasure to be writing to you all today. (Am I doing this right? This is my first time writing a letter. I became an Exalt to Water Flight last year during the week before Wavecrest Saturnalia, so this time of year is nostalgic for me. I remember what it was like to be a new Exalt, feeling lost and confused in a brand new flight. Leaving my secluded Nature clan for Water felt like stepping into a whole new world. Fortunately, my fellow Exalts were very understanding and kind. Between my new comrades and the cheerful festival atmosphere, I was able to settle into my new life as an Exalt quickly. I hope to provide the same welcome to the new Exalts arriving this year. Speaking of which, I'm sure you all would like to know how your former clanmates have been doing since you sent them to Water for Exaltation. I am proud to report that several of us have found purpose in studying and caring for the animals that have come from the sea of clouds. Each creature is specially adapted to survive in its home environment, and with the rare appearance of the cloud sea, it provides a rare opportunity to study these previously-unknown species: learning how they live, what they eat, how take care of them, etc. Since many of us Nature dragons are passionate about caring for and protecting nature's creatures, it is not surprising that so many of us would take on this role and do well with it. I hope you enjoyed my letter, and that it is acceptable given it is my very first one. Hopefully this will serve as an appropriate ending: may you all a wonderful Wavecrest Saturnalia! Hope you're having a good day. Sorry for the stains; kitchen's still a mess from dinner and I haven't had time to clean up yet. Wait - nearly forgot. Introductions first. Name's Carnix. Born and raised in Plague, near the Wyrmwound. My old clan made a living from training up dragons as mercenaries and selling their services during dom battles. That's how I ended up Exalted to Water. Took a bad hit to my knee during a skirmish and had to retire from serving on the front lines. Had to do something to keep from going crazy from boredom, so I started working in the kitchens. Turns out I was actually good at cooking, so I kept at it. Been cooking for Water's Exalts ever since. Also been seeing a lot more Plague dragons in the kitchens recently. Honestly, good. Most folks don't got nearly adventurous palates these days, I tell you what. Which is a real shame when Water borders six flights - more than any other flight - and has a varied cuisine to match. Lots of fusion dishes: fish fillets covered in glowshroom sauce, fried cactus seasoned with spices from Fire, carrion soup served with a Light's Breath leaf salad... Too many dragons outside of Water turn their noses up at these combos. But Plague dragons know how to appreciate things other dragons find "gross." They've been liking the fusion foods a lot and coming up with new ones in the kitchens. Hopefully they'll convince the other Exalts to give them a try. Hope you enjoy WaveSat. And the food. My name's xXxWingSparklesxXx. As you can probably guess, I'm originally from Arcane Flight, but I Exalted myself to Water because I wanted to go somewhere where my talents would be rare and valuable. You see, my favorite hobbies include stargazing and practicing my spells... Which is also what nearly every other dragon in Arcane Flight does. So I went over to Water Flight to see if my skills would be needed there, and found a place among their Exalts. I've been here ever since. Speaking of staring at the sky, we Arcane dragons are really good at doing that – all that time spent studying the stars and all. This year, that skill gets put to more practical use as weather watchers and meteorologists, monitoring the skies for inclement weather. You see, while the sea of clouds descending to the surface is really neat, it has the unfortunate side effect of obscuring the sky and blocking out our view of the stars and other heavenly bodies. (And creating a lot of fog that's hard to see through, though that's a secondary concern in my books.) Luckily, Arcane dragons like us have lots of experience with studying celestial phenomena, which includes weather (gotta know whether a rainstorm will ruin your view of the meteor shower or not). So we're able to predict the weather with a decently high amount of accuracy despite the increased cloud cover, and warn folks to take proper precautions if necessary. Luckily, the weather in the Sea of a Thousand Currents is forecasted to be pleasant for the rest of this week. So you can relax and enjoy the festival – weather watchers like us will keep an eye on the sky and make sure that no inclement weather will ruin your fun. Ever watchful, xXxWingSparklesxXx @pinglist-27053
