So I've been gone for... a while (circa 2017). Came back briefly in 2020 (yay panini) but didn't really interact with the lore or community.

To quote Thomas Jefferson, so what have I missed?

ANCIENTS! Abbies! Undertides! Aethers! Sandsharks! The Sandsurges were very recent, but the others are readily available on the AH if you want 'em!

Soooooo many QOL updates. Also, achievements are back and better than ever!

A general list of updates can be found in the Chronological update reference-thread. But to give a short summary on what has happened - tl;dr: a lot.

2021

• New world map - no longer a static JPEG
• Marketplace revamp - you can now search in the Marketplace, among other things like flash sales (an item gets on sale for 12 hours)
• New modern - Obelisks!
• Warrior's Way - an event happening in August that's slightly like NotN, expect that instead of eggs, there's an EXP boost in the Coliseum

2022

• Arlo - a new NPC within the Trading Post that lets you dig up items with resources
• Patches - a new shop NPC that celebrates Pirate Day with us
• Changeable lair locations - and banner changing
• Aberrations among Undertides - two new Ancients
• Grand Exhange - this is where event shops are located nowadays
• Beastclans on Rise was removed - as it implicated some... things

2023 - from start to this day

• Susie - a new shop NPC that celebrates Valentine's Day with us
• Sage - a new shop NPC, among the first Beastclan NPC that sells the seasonal items
• Marva - a new shop NPC that celebrates April Fool's with us, yes, we now know what Marva looks like
• Aethers among Sandsurges - two new Ancients
• Achievements - finally

...and naturally, a ton of genes, apparel pieces and familiars.
