CLAN ORIGIN
THIS IS A DRAFT. DON'T FORGET TO FIX IT.

Worms wandered the Scarred Wasteland alone.

Abandoned by her pack and her mother, Elena, she fended for herself as she made her way... somewhere. She didn't know where, just that her instincts told her to move.

Starving and alone, she eventually came to a giant thicket of brambles, at the edge of the Tangled Wood. There she met Maran, a fearsome guardian, and became his charge.

Eventually found by the clan of Worms' late father, they attempted to take it back to be exalted to the Plaguebringer herself.

They failed, but Maran lost his life.

Worms, now grown, returned to the Wasteland to make a life for herself. Away from the other Mirrors. Having spent most of her adolescence stationary, she was no longer affected by her nomadic instincts, and settled down in the Wandering Contagion. Other instincts, however, were another story.

Rot wandered the Scarred Wasteland alone.

In his youth, his pack was at war with another. He ran, hoping to find help, and met a female Pearlcatcher by the name of Minna.

He told her of his troubles, and she agreed to help.

Taking him prisoner instead, she told her clan of the weakened Mirror pack. Taking advantage of them, Minna's clan easily slaughtered what remained of Rot's family.

Eventually escaping, he returned to his family's last home near Seedscar. Not finding any of their remains, he hoped that they yet lived. He knew they loathed leaving the Plaguebringer's land, so they would still be in the Wasteland if they had survived.

Many months later, he realized it was useless. Their scent hadn't been found anywhere; they must have died. Hoping for one last chance, he decided to try the Starfall Isles for answers. They kept meticulous records of everything, they might know. Or at least know how he could find out.

His first attempt would be the Starwood Strand, perhaps an idea would come to him there. A new angle to see the problem at hand. The closest border to the Strand was the Wandering Contagion. So, there he made his way.

Lone Mirrors are rare, and seldom found. They normally would choose to join a pack as soon as possible.

Sometimes they can't. Sometimes they're alone because they lost something, whether it was taken or simply disappeared.

Some never move on, but two for certain did.

Worms had made herself a permanent lair, not usual for a Mirror. One day spotting another lone Mirror flying overhead, she paused.

Rot was speeding towards the Starwood strand, fast as the wind could carry him. He knew there was no hope in finding them, but he hadn't known any other life for far too long. Looking down, he saw another lone Mirror. He stopped, shocked, before hesitantly gliding down.

Worms sat, looking up at the dragon above her. Suddenly, they stopped, and she knew that they had seen her. She stood, wary and ready to defend herself, as it watched them approach from above.

Upon reaching the ground, Rot lowered his head, a submissive gesture among Mirrors. Making oneself vulnerable to show you mean no harm was one of the few things he remembered from his family.

They spoke for some time. Both relieved to have found another, but wary at first. Forgetting his mission, Rot graciously accepted Worms' invitation to her lair. It was only supposed to be a few days, to get his strength back.

He stayed, not wanting to leave her. Not wanting to lose anyone again.

She didn't want him to leave either.

Tertiary Matriarch

Elder Submatriarch
Faerna
Species: Banescale
Mate: Dash (most likely temporary)
Parents: N/A
Additional: Extremely aggressive when awake but spends most of her time sleeping or preening her familiar, who she chose for their matching plumage.

Primary Submatriarch
Jasha
Species: Veilspun
Mate: Unmated
Parents: N/A
Additional: Smallest in the entire clan. She has a particular disdain for Klina, who often mocks her for being the only dragon smaller than he. Of course, he does it in jest, but his flat and near unreadable tone make it difficult for Jasha to tell this.

Secondary Submatriarch
Hydnellum
Species: Aberration
Mate: Teratogeny
Parents: N/A
Additional: Hydnellum is roughly twice the size of her mate, despite being the same species. He enjoys burrowing into the frills on her neck to sleep.

Tertiary Submatriarch
Aio
Species: Coatl
Mate: Unmated
Parents: N/A
Additional: Aio was brought into the clan as Tertiary Submatriarch even though she met almost none of the requirements that the Elder had set. Though none are allowed to know the Elder's plans for the clan besides its mate, most of the clan has some ideas of what will happen to them. Aio is the exception. She knows nothing of the Elder's plan to alter her, and very little of what its done to her clanmates.

The Huntresses
Tombprowler
Species: Mirror
Parents: Fen, Worms
Additional: The First Huntress. She was nearly not chosen, simply because she did not inherit her mothers' spines.

Skytearer
Species: Guardian
Parents: Lantan, Worms
Additional: The Second Huntress. Small for a guardian. Like her mother, her flighty instincts have been dulled by her lifestyle, meaning she no longer craves a charge like most of her kind. In times of doubt, she considers her flightless familiar to be her charge, and will carry them wherever she goes.

Ghosteater
Species: Mirror
Parents: Sonendey, Worms
Additional: The Third Huntress.
