Basic rules:
 • A death in the coliseum = that dragon must be removed from the game.
 • All loot obtained in the coliseum is irrelevant, as is the loot obtained from gathering.
 • There are no restrictions about applying apparel to your dragons. Do whatever makes sense to you. Same goes for familiars.
 • Once a dragon reaches level 25, it is to be retired from the game.

Starting Out: Obtain a small number of dragons (I suggest 2 or 3). If they already have names, keep the name! If not, name them whatever you like. The challenge starts once all of the dragons, if they are hatchlings, grow into adulthood.

Drops of Fate: Visit Pinkerton and collect your daily free item!

Food: Coliseum time!
Plants: 10 matches
Insects: 20 matches
Seafood: 30 matches
Meat: 40 matches

Choose whichever team and venue you want and go for it. Running from battles, using health pots, and ending the battle streak is fine.

Materials and Trinkets: Flex your creative muscles!

Note that there is currently a glitch in which Pinkerton mislabels materials as trinkets. If you obtain a "trinket" from Pinkerton, double check to make sure its not actually a material!

Materials: Do some writing for your nuzlocke.

Trinkets: Create or commission some art for your nuzlocke! If you make a nuzlocke thread, post your art there.

Rare drops: Wildcard

Familiars: Buy the cheapest dragon in the auction house of a specific breed. Use a random number generator (between 1-14) to determine which breed you will get! (Optionally: attach the familiar to the new dragon.)

1. Fae
2. Guardian
3. Mirror
4. Pearlcatcher
5. Ridgeback
6. Tundra
7. Spiral
8. Imperial
9. Snapper
10. Wildclaw
11. Nocturne
12. Coatl
13. Skydancer
14. Bogsneak

Apparel: Breed two of your dragons. The dragons you pick are up to you. You can also change one of the genes on a dragon, or use a scatterscroll if you are rich and crazy.

Note: You must flip a coin for each hatchling once they hatch. If tails, the dragon is dead and you must exalt it. This is in keeping with the origional Nuzlocke thread's rule, because I really like it.

Battle items: Uh-oh!!!

Flip a coin.
Heads = DEATH STREAK
Tails = Nothing happens

DEATH STREAK rules: Randomly select three dragons using a random number generator. Fight in the coliseum using the "food" rules 10 rounds consecutively (ie. you cannot leave that arena), quitting midway if a dragon dies.

Losing:
If your dragon count falls to zero you have a few options:
 1. Declare the challenge a "loss" and give up
 2. Wait for Pinkerton to drop a familiar
 3. Just say "welp" and buy another dragon from the AH without waiting for Pinkerton because you lack patience.

DROP LOG Note - Since I am starting this log from when my three starter dragons are hatchlings, the first five days I will be ignoring battle and breeding drops for obvious reasons. Those days I will be treating as Wildcards. Day One - Jan 8, Materials Vinca and Blacklily are brother and sister, hatching from the very same clutch. They encountered Suntide when they made their first trip from the Nature forest to the Shadow forest to learn more about the flight that birthed their kind. Suntide was eager to show them his world and introduce them to the more tricksy side of Shadow dragons via prank war. They got so wrapped up in playing in the Tangled Wood and tricking each other that they didn't notice a mysterious figure watching them from the shadows... Day Two - Jan 9, Apparel Normally, this would call for a breeding, but since everyone is currently too young, the choices remaining in my rule set are: change one of the genes on a dragon, or use a scatter scroll if you are rich and crazy. I'm not rich and crazy so I will be adding a gene to a dragon. I had a Python scroll laying around and so, Blacklily has some nice new markings! Day Three - Jan 10, Insects Normally, this would call for 20 matches in the coli. However, they are still too young for battle. Instead, I will buy an apparel item with treasure from the first page of the auction house. Today I found a Plasmpool Forecallouses for 2500. I think they will look good on Blacklily when he is old enough. Day Four - Jan 11, Materials Suntide was so thrilled to have two new friends. Vinca and Blacklily were great because they were small (well, smaller than him) and could be carried around in each of his wings and they seemed so excited to hear everything he had to tell them about the Tangled Wood. They repeated back to him the name of every flower and mushroom and hexed spiderweb. They didn't notice how other dragons who made their way through the Wood glanced at him and wrinkled their snouts ever so slightly. They had eyes only for him and his stories. It began to occur to Suntide that he could tell these new dragons anything and they would believe him. "Hey, Blacklily," he began oh so carefully. "Yuh-huh?" Blacklily's head came up as he tore his attention away from a glowing butterfly that had landed on a flower where they had stopped. "My clan is up ahead in that clearing," he said and pointed his snout toward a light up the way. "And you know what? They love practical jokes." "Really?" Vinca asked, her attention now laser-focused on him too. "Really! All Shadow dragons love jokes! In fact, the better you are at pranks, the more important you are! I'm really really important." "Woah!" Both the young Nocturns gasped together. "Yeah!" Suntide boasted, suddenly pulled into the thrall of his own story. "I'm like. Their prince or something. And I'd like to make you my royal subjects." "You'd really make us royal subjects?" Blacklily wobbled to his feet in the cradle of Suntide's wing. The Guardian unfurled it so that Blacklily could take off and hover excitedly before him and Vinca on the path. "We were just regular old hatchlings back home! We've never been a royal anything, have we, Vinca?" "No way!" His sister cried. Suntide's bumpy snout curled up in a grin. He held his head high and continued on in a very important voice. "But you gotta pass the test first." "What kind of test?" Vinca took her turn to hop out of Suntide's wing to land beside her brother and gaze up at him adoringly. "We'll do anything! We want to be real Shadow dragons! That's why we came all this way, you know!" "Oh, I know," said Suntide. Almost as though that was the only thing they talked about as soon as they met. "Okay, listen, in order to become real Shadow dragons and my loyal royal subjects...you have to prank my dad." Blacklily and Vinca looked at one another... There's no way this will end badly! Day Five - Jan 12, Plants Another battle-based pull for a gaggle of very not-battle-ready dragons. I'm going to go to the first page of the Apparel page on the auction house again and see what is for sale for treasure! To match the last item I bought off the AH, I grabbed this Plasmpool Hindcallouses. It might work well for some kind of curse that befalls one of my dragons in the Tangled Wood. Day Six - Jan 13, Materials "How are we gonna prank your dad?" Vinca asked. "If you're the Prince of the Shadow dragons, he must be even better at pranks!" "Well--I wouldn't say that," said Suntide as he idly scratched behind one frill. "I mean, I'm the best. But that's just because I'm on what my Uncle Bramble calls the cutting edge of comedy. My dad knows plenty of great pranks but I'm learning all the new ones he didn't know when he was a hatchling." Vinca wrinkled her snout thoughtfully, which was saying something considering the already wrinkled snouts Nocturns possessed. "I don't know..." "Don't you trust me?" Suntide became suddenly offended. He puffed himself up and spread his wings. "It's not that..." Vinca said, tilting her head as though she were carefully rolling the thought back and forth between her ears. "It's just that...what if we fail? Will we have to go all the way back to the Labyrinth?" "Oh, uh--" Suntide caught himself and blinked rapidly. "Of course not! You just have to try is all. I'd never send you away. Today has been so fun." Finally, Vinca smiled softly. "It has. Blacklily, do you--" She swiveled her head. "Blacklily?" "Wuh--Blacklily?" Suntide joined in the confusion. In the brief time he and Vinca had been talking, Vinca's brother had disappeared. What if he had gone further up the path and started pranking without them? If he wasn't good at it--or worse yet--if he was good at it, the little Nocturne would get into big trouble. And it would be all Suntide's fault! Panic prickled like sweat between his dark purple scales. "Uh--don't panic!" "Blacklily!" Vinca cried. She flapped several dragon-lengths upward but could only fly so high. The Tangled Wood was called that for a reason and the canopy loomed like the ceiling of a great cave. "Blacklily come back! We haven't started! Don't you want to be a good Shadow dragon?" Suntide could hear it in her voice that her dreams were crumbling around her talons as she swept back and forth overhead in the clearing. He squirmed on the spot and turned in a slow circle, trying very hard not to look as antsy as he felt. A spooky voice suddenly came from somewhere and echoed from the mist. "The one you call Blacklily is in mu clutches now, Sssuntide!" "What!" Vinca fell like a stone so she could plant her claws on the ground and turn toward the sound of the voice. Suntide stretched his neck up to see over her wings and squinted into the gloom of the Wood. He didn't see any dragons or beastclanners. "Come out!" Suntide demanded. "It's too late," wheedled the voice. "He belongsss to me now." "You are messing with the Shadow Prince and his subjects!" Suntide bristled. "You do not want to make me mad." "Please!" Vinca choked out. In the very short time her brother had been missing, she had imagined at least four hundred possible grizzly ends for him. She had only seen a little of the Tangled Wood but it had plenty to offer when it came to ways a dragon could hurt himself. "We'll do anything you want!" "No we won't!" Suntide slithered around in front of her and spread his wings to block her view of--whatever it was! And possibly, the view whatever it was had of Vinca. "We're going to tear your tail off and feed it to you! We're going to pull your claws off and push them into your eyeballs! We're going to--" "Ew!" Cried a second voice that echoed. "Shh!" The first voice hushed it. "That's my brother's voice!" Vinca went charging over the top of Suntide in such a hurry that she stepped on his head and sent him tumbling snout first into the dirt. "You give me back my brother! You better! You better!" She howled and threw herself into the brush. Instantly, the purple end of her tail disappeared. Suntide felt his heart fall into his feet. Where had she gone? She was just right there in front of him! There was no way a few scrubby bushes and some mushrooms could hide a whole dragon like that! "Vinca!" Suntide pushed himself to his claws and trampled after her. When he crossed over the tangle of brush, his talons met air where they should have met damp soil. He pitched forward (again) and went tumbling down, down, down.... DROP LOG

Note - Since I am starting this log from when my three starter dragons are hatchlings, the first five days I will be ignoring battle and breeding drops for obvious reasons. Those days I will be treating as Wildcards.

Day One - Jan 8, Materials

Vinca and Blacklily are brother and sister, hatching from the very same clutch. Day Two - Jan 9, Apparel

Normally, this would call for a breeding, but since everyone is currently too young, the choices remaining in my rule set are: change one of the genes on a dragon, or use a scatter scroll if you are rich and crazy. I'm not rich and crazy so I will be adding a gene to a dragon.

I had a Python scroll laying around and so, Blacklily has some nice new markings!

Day Three - Jan 10, Insects

Normally, this would call for 20 matches in the coli. However, they are still too young for battle. Instead, I will buy an apparel item with treasure from the first page of the auction house.
