1. Dragons can either be bred or bought at the auction house.
2. Whether a dragon is rare or not is mostly up to user interpretation. The exception is that imperial dragons without parents or triple coloured dragons without parents are all rare
3. You can get a profile pic by clicking the arrow next to your username up to the right corner :)
(and technically the help-forum is a better place for these questions)

@Junomoon hi there! welcome to fr! first off, congrats on your progenitor dragons (also known as progens!), your custom's tert ended up being pretty good and your random ended up with great colors!
i'd suggest looking in the guides forums for every helpful resource you could ever need - this thread in particular has listed a bunch of helpful guides! looking in your flight's sales forum or the dragon sales forum is a good idea for getting new dragons, as many people give out free dragons to newbies!
you can give yourself an avatar by clicking the arrow next to your name at the very top of the page and clicking "change avatar"! ah, someone got to it before me!
