TOPIC | How to get gems quicker?
I was wondering, how do I get a lot of gems? I was considering trading treasure for some, but I don't think that'll get me 1,450 more gems anytime soon. I DO have 6 months until I can change my flight again, but knowing me, I won't get enough gems by that time. Is there a way i can just do a simple transaction of my treasure to gems without having to trade with other players, or any other tactic? Thanks!

@artisanGodhead
for exchanges: you can buy items/dragons in treasure and sell them in gems or you can just go directly through users in the items for sale forums, but there's no way to do it through the site itself

selling items in gems to begin with is pretty good, if you're an artist you could consider doing commissions/adopts/skins, buying the gems with real money is always an option... and you can look through this guide for some other stuff

@artisanGodhead Skyblaze covered a few great tips already, but my top two ways are selling items for gems on AH and familiar bonding. I always sell items like eggs and certain familiars for gems since they sell well and go for higher prices. Familiar bonding is a slower but easy way to get gems once you get going because the chests you get at higher bonding levels will always contain gems. I hope that helps c:

@artisangodhead

If you're just going for gems the chests actually sell on the AH for more than what they contain.

Iron Treasure Chests are going for 8 gems each,, whereas when you open them they only contain 1-5 gems.

Gilded Decorative Chests sell for 30 gems, but they only contain 10-20 gems when opening.

The additional items may make up the value but it's all rng at the end of the day.

If you want to get gems, selling items that are in demand are absolutely the way to go if you don't want to interact with other humans. However, as someone who has bought gems from other players on the forums routinely, it has always been very low stress and low pressure--they have their exchange rate, you put your half into a CR, they put their half in, and you confirm.

If that's not an option for you, any items that are reasonably rare and also in demand are usually very quick sellers. Ice's festival is coming up, which means that pretty much all Baldwin materials are going to be in especially high demand, and you can get those for free by chucking junk into Baldwin's cauldron.
