Korean doesn't use Chinese characters anymore, but a large proportion of the vocabulary is Sino-Korean in origin and used to be written in Chinese characters. I'm interested in linguistic history like that so I find it interesting/helpful for me to know lots of Chinese characters. :3
Xi'an is a big city in inland China. It's a really old, historic kinda city because it used to be the capital for several dynasties like hundreds or thousands of years ago.
