TOPIC | I got a puppy :o)
Honestly, I agree about the breeder. No responsible breeder would rehome a puppy at 6 weeks, even if everything else on their part seems to look good.
I'm not judging you, I'm just saying that for your own sake, if you choose to buy another puppy from a breeder, it's really best not to jump the gun. There are behavioral and health issues that can occur with an animal leaving its mother and siblings too soon, and it's a huge red flag for a breeder to not care about that.
Personally, having adopted and bought from a breeder, I prefer breeders more often than not. There's a huge problem in my area where shelters are overflowing with aggressive dogs (and strangely enough, being mislabeled as breeds they're clearly not despite the fact that these types of dogs are very popular to the point of having an actual lobbying group!), so anyone who wants a more stable dog is likely going to have to go the breeder route or just hope they get lucky and find one in a breed-specific rescue.

I'm just so glad there was a civilized and healthy discussion in this thread from all sides.
I ended up here because I have a great deal of related/unrelated in my brain while on my own dog search and, whatever. Not going to ramble, just glad other dog people out there are being made happy with their happy dogs.

I have 3 snakes, soon to be 4 (an axanthic hognose named Irwin, a cornsnake named Rowan, and a ball python named Jasper), and 2 cats (Gwendolyn and Sam). I love them all! <333

But we've (my parents and lil sis) got 2 cats! They're called Mickey and Odin and they're European Shorthairs. I'm most likely going to get a cat once I go live on my own. Or maybe even a dog! (Or both if they get along, lmao)

Other than the breeder rehoming the pups too early, everything else you mentioned and the steps you took are what ultimately led to this decision, and Bagel seems right for you! She’s a very cute baby indeed!
I volunteer at my local shelter and recently (about a month ago) adopted a senior lady. Her name is Nevaeh and she’s the cuddliest thing ever, if a little clingy. Once I get home I could totally maybe provide a picture of her?
