Loki creeped closer to the door and peered in a window, noticing the mouse running down the Skydancer’s back and onto the floor.
Better keep an eye on that one
He silently opened the door, thanking his small size for once.

Blue closed the door slowly behind the pair, careful not to let it bang against the frame. The blue Skydancer seemed eager to come in, the red one following behind more carefully. For a moment he thought he saw something ruffle the red Skydancer's mane, but then chastised himself for staring at the customers and quickly looked away. It was probably just caused by him walking anyway. He was about to ask them if they were looking for something specific when the male spoke up.

"I've heard of this place," he said, looking at the shop assistant. "I've heard you sell enchanted gear. Is that true?" he blinked innocently, tilting his head with an easy smile. The Tundra perked up at this. One of the few things he'd been given straight instructions for! "Why yes, we do! If you'll excuse me for just a moment I can get my boss and he'll show you what we have. Oh, and is there anything either of you would like to look at while I get him? Ma'am?" Blue offered. He decided to ask the female specifically, since she seemed to be showing more interest in the general wares. He could point her to a section to look at before he went to get Master Hermes.

((I was gonna try to have the guard catching Loki outside since I don't want the guard in the store yet, but I hope this works too! I'll still introduce the guard though lol)) Myo couldn't help but curiously glance about, partially to cover her nervousness about wandering out of sight from where her bodyguard might have found her, and partially eager to take in such an unfamiliar sight. It was certainly small - she could imagine the more pompous types she'd met upturning their noses at the mere thought of ever setting foot in here - but there was a charming quaintness to it. The girl had been idly brushing over a display of bracelets when the stranger brought up something about enchanted gear. She perked up. "Oh!" She began, then lowered her voice so as not to speak over the Tundra. "Is that what you'll be getting her? Magic jewelry?" Myo smiled at the thought. "How sweet...! I hadn't even thought of that." Whether or not he'd heard her, she didn't mind; after all, he was talking to the shopkeeper. She was thinking out loud more than anything. "Oh, and is there anything either of you would like to look at while I get him? Ma'am?" "Aah? Um..." Myo fidgeted with one of the bracelets she'd been looking over. "Um... no, nothing in particular." She paused. "But thank you." She did enjoy looking at the knick knacks, but the fear of missing her guard distracted her more. Urgency gripped her as she looked over her shoulder and glanced out the window, almost expecting to see him there. Thankfully (and unfortunately), he wasn't there, but.. Blue dipped his head, murmuring an "I'll be right back," before quickly excusing himself and ducking behind the counter to once again climb the staircase to the upper floor. He knocked politely on the door before opening it a crack. "Master Hermes, a gentleman downstairs is asking to see the enchanted items." The Tundra then stepped back from the door so he wouldn't be in the way, waiting for a response so he'd know what to do next.

Loki jumped when he realized he'd been spotted by the blue 'dancer. He quickly backed away from the door and outside into the street. Suddently, he was almost stepped on by a wildclaw with golden wings.
"Hey, watch it!" he snapped.

(@Azuroru I love all your characters! The bio templates and outfits are stunning!) Vulkann smiled at Myo and nodded, briefly tearing his eyes away from the shop assistant to meet her gaze.

"She loves magic. She's a scientist," he whispered, before returning his attention to the Tundra.

"Why yes, we do! If you'll excuse me for just a moment I can get my boss and he'll show you what we have. Oh, and is there anything either of you would like to look at while I get him? Ma'am?" he was saying, switching his attention to Myo towards the end. He was a cheery fellow, but slight twitches and eye moments gave away his nerves.

Good thing I brought her along, he thought. She's good cover. If Hermes is expecting me at all, he'll be expecting a lone Skydancer. Still, Cassie never liked bringing others, especially civilians, into their operations. Moral thievery. Ha.

"Aah? Um..." Myo said. He glanced at her. She twined a bracelet round her claws. "Um... no, nothing in particular." She paused. "But thank you." She glanced over her shoulder, scanning the street outside.

Huh? he thought as the Tundra left the room. What's she looking for? Or who?

Focus, Vulkann. You're just here for the crystal.

Myo flinched suddenly. He turned, ruff flaring, followed her gaze to the window.

A Fae was standing there, peering into the shop. Forest green and amethyst purple scales collided to give him a poisonous look. He reminded Vulkann of a rainforest frog. One of the deadly ones. The moment he was spotted, he backed off.

Vulkann growled. "Creep," he muttered. Don't tell me he's scoping the shop out too. An icy claw slid up his spine. If I lose the crystal or the intel... He shook himself out, quills quivering. Cassie will get it. She's never let me down before.

Cassie descended to the floor and scampered after Blue, keeping to the shadows. She turned out her lights, breathing hard, little mouse heart pounding. The floor shook with each step Blue took up the stairs.

Aw, dammit, She thought, already panting. She leaped up the steps one at a time, timing her jumps with the dragon's footsteps. She ducked behind him as the door opened with a creak.

"Master Hermes, a gentleman downstairs is asking to see the enchanted items," said the Tundra. Cassie crouched, trying to quieten her gasps.

Here we go, she thought.

Hermes was just sitting down to write his letter when the door opened. He clenched his jaw as Blue's voice reached his ears - until he said someone was here to see his special wares.

Hermes crossed the room, opened the door.
"The enchanted wares?" he said. He strode past the smaller Tundra and down the stairs, smoke curling from his nostrils. That's... Odd. I wasn't expecting another visitor until later.

So caught up in his thoughts, he didn't see the mouse slipping into the room.

Vulkann was about to say something to Myo when he heard it. Footsteps.

He turned as the floor trembled, ruff standing on end. He took a deep breath to calm his racing heart. Show no fear.

The door to the shop opened and Hermes stepped through. Swathed in scarlet robes and garments, he was striking in his way. His shadow fell over Vulkann, who held his ground - but died a little inside.

Oh.

The Guardian's eyes flashed past Myo - pausing to roam over her slender form - before landing on Vulkann.

Those dark eyes narrowed.

Vulkann beamed, shifting his weight from one talon to the other.
"Ahh, customers!" Hermes boomed. The racks hanging from the ceiling swayed. "I hear you're looking for something special, my boy," he said, smiling at Vulkann.

Does he recognise me? he wondered.
"Yes, I am," he said, flaring his wings. "It's my sister's birthday soon... I was hoping to, y'know, buy her something special," he laughed slightly, as if embarrassed.
Herme's eyes flashed. He inclined his head slightly. "I see. Well, if you'll come with me," he beckoned him with one bejewelled talon - large enough to fit Vulkann's skull in it.

Hermes looked at Myo. "Are you his companion, my lady?" he asked, tilting his head. "If so, you are more than welcome to.. Accompany us."

"Urk!" Gladius quickly drew back, surprised by the voice. He snapped his head down to the source: a Fae. "Er... Excuse me," he offered a curt apology and was about to continue on ahead before he stopped and gave Loki a quick doubletake.

What in Light's name...?!

He couldn't help but recoil further. The gesture was rude, and normally he'd have restrained himself from such a reaction, but... Gladius had never seen eyes like his before. What was it? Some manner of magic? A trick? A curse?! Oooh, and now he had stared at him for too long...! He had to say something! "Wh..." He began, trying to formulate a question. He would've asked him the whereabouts of his charge, but he couldn't risk putting her in danger by letting some... shadowcursed dragon know that she was defenseless!

But he could always stop him before he tried.

Gladius sucked in a deep breath.

"...Apologizes again for my rudeness. I'm in a bit of a hurry, so might I ask you a quick question?"

It was a risk he had to take. Every second counted.

"Have you seen... a blue Skydancer around?"

When Hermes spoke, Myo couldn't help but flinch. That was natural of her of course, but when the very shop's wares shook in response to the power in his voice, well... could you really blame her? She inched back a little and tightly pressed her wings against her body, hoping that it would lessen her presence. One would think that seeing someone so elegantly dressed would be another mark of familiarity for her, but the way he carried himself was an entirely different story. He was intimidating, plain and simple, even if she thought he didn't mean to be. Perhaps his size had to do with it... She recalled Gladius expressing interest in recruiting a Guardian at least several times now, and now that she was so close to one in a small space... well, she could clearly understand the guard's reasoning.

"Are you his companion, my lady?" Hermes had asked, tilting his head. "If so, you are more than welcome to... Accompany us."

"Oh, um... Y-yes," Myo answered, though it was less of an answer to his question and more of an acknowledgement that he was speaking to her. "I'd love to see...!" She forced a smile, though it was small and nervous - much like the rest of her, really.

"Oh, yeah, just in there."
Loki gestured with his tail and fins. He blinked up at the wildclaw, tipping his hat.
"Whatsa' matter? Never seen a primal-eyed shadow dragon before? I don't bite, mister."
He bared his teeth in a smile that was meant to come across as sweet and innocent.
