TOPIC | Favorite Holiday
My favorite holiday is Halloween for a great many number of reasons. The biggest reason is because of its history. Originally Halloween was a pagan Celtic holiday meant to celebrate many things including: the harvest, death, life, the coming of the new year, thanking the gods and a prayer for next year's health and harvest. It was celebrated by giving (a) sacrifice(s), gathering around bonfires and enjoying delicious freshly harvested foods and whatever meat they had. Treats were often made as well. During this time it was believed the afterlife was most allowed to wander during this time, and masks and costumes were worn to fool malevolent spirits into believing one was already dead (or in some retellings they scared off spirits). It was almost completely eradicated by the Christians and Catholics as it (just like other pagan beliefs and cultures) were sinful works of the devil. They later soon came to accept it as a holiday in hopes it would help aid in conversion.

At least, that's as much as I know about it for now.

I want to know your favorite whether it is specific to your religion or country and why it is your favorite.

Personally, I like Thanksgiving. Sometimes my mom's birthday falls on it so we get all the fancy foods and then cake/Ice Cream too.

Sankt Hans!
It's a celebration we got in Denmark (and other places in the north) where we burn off a witch made of hay, sticks and other stuff. It's all about gathering around a giant fire and maybe frying some twist bread or marshmallows.
All in all, it's a night where young and old gather

Christmas. Not for the gifts, but for the aesthetic. And it's the temperature I prefer; colder, meaning more layers of clothing, more opportunity to express my true fashion sense.

Most assume Halloween is my favourite based on how I dress, my trinkets, shows I watch, etc., but no, I've had too many negative experiences occurring on Halloween that left a sour taste in my mouth for years to come. Not even the temptation of candy makes it enjoyable. And I really just hate Thanksgiving for "family" reasons.

Halloween is my absolute favorite 'cause of all the spooky stuff, which I love to death, and then comes Christmas. There's just something special about the peaceful and warm atmosphere of Christmas! Also, giving gifts to the people I care about is super fun and I love seeing the looks on their faces when they open their presents.

Halloween, no contest. It was one of the times of the year dressing goth went unremarked, or even complimented by people, and my whole Aesthetic is on sale everywhere. Doesn't require a family gathering (which is great if your family is terrible), and you get candy. It's also probably the only major holiday that's managed to escape having any bad memories formed, and it's relatively un-romantic generally, which is a big plus as someone who is on the aromantic spectrum.

I'd have to say Thanksgiving,it's usually a point in tiem of the year where my family makes a lot of food and quite a bit of it is food we don't have very often besides on holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas

Halloween~!! Best time of the year. Free candy, good creepy food, and you get to dress however you want to dress. Which of course is the best part.
