False Cockatrice
This beast mimics the appearance of the dreaded cockatrice in order to ward off potential attackers. However, the false cockatrice cannot turn anything into stone!
I got my inspiration from a type of pheasant (not sure what species), and an eastern red-backed salamander!
Does anyone think I should do anything with the wings? I was thinking of putting black barring along the white membrane, but I was worried that would actually be too much. Suggestions are completely welcome! Though all I have is a mouse, so fancy designs would probably be a no.

It's not shaded, but I did use a lot of gradients. I'd love some feedback if that's visually confusing! It wouldn't be much trouble to flatten some of the colors
