And to answer your question, to edit your signature you need to go to your Account Settings, using the same drop down arrow you use to change your avatar (good comparison since I believe you have figured that out). Then go to the Edit Signature button, and do what you want! It's pretty simple to set a signature, but they have a certain limit when it comes to sizes, so be sure to check if your material fits within the given guidelines.
