I ended up slapping an "I give up" on the whole thing and just bought the familiars I was missing from the money made from selling all of the extra thornthick thieves I had.
I also got SIX Conjurer's Staffs in a row out of 14 chests. How's that for RNG tomfoolery?

I swapped my spares for the ones I was missing, it went great. :) I'm glad too because I'll be on vacation for the rest of the event... (I'm only on now because airports are super boring, ha.)
