Hello folks. Having looked for one and found none, I have decided to put together a basic coliseum strategy guide - partially to reduce the number of questions that keep popping up in the forums and partially because, hey, I need one too! xD
Since I hope to make this at least somewhat detailed, I'm requesting help from you guys. I have quite a few questions that I need covered before I put it together and post, and in case you've played the coliseum games a lot I'd love to know what some of your strategies are, and what stat spreads you hand out to your dragons. Thanks in advance!
Here is what I am looking to find out right now(and please don't hesitate to ask if you think of something that should be covered!) :
[*]What types are effective/ineffective against others? I know I saw one before but I cannot find it. [*]When changing a species with a scroll, will their stats change or even re-set? For example, a tundra will have higher INT than a guardian from the start - will you gain INT points from changing your guardian into a tundra with a scroll? [*]Why are some dragons stats colored in green on their page, while most are in black?
[*]Are there 'hidden' stats somehow in the game depending on species, size ect., or is the stuff you can see the stuff you can work with? [*]Can I find a sorted list of available attacks somewhere? [*]Does the size/weight of a dragon affect the gameplay in any way? Are there moves similar to Pokemon's grass knot for example, were the weight of the enemy will determine damage?
[*]As a more personal question, what are your favorite builds?
Yeah, so, some of these questions might seem obvious or even silly to you(I tend to have that effect when writing, lol), but I actually have no idea about this stuff. Info on the coliseum seem very scarce at the moment, so I'm requesting your help. This is just the stuff that I've pondered on. Anything you want to contribute with would be absolutely fantastic.

chart of effectiveness:http://flightrising.com/main.php?board=help&id=53097&p=mb
battle stones:http://flightrising.com/main.php?board=help&id=50501&p=mb
green stats mean they are boosted, usually by an item or dominance boost
I have never used a change breed scroll so I can't answer that, and the rest I don't know.
I prefer to pick a "tank" who has a lot of defense and health with the guard skill, a caster with a focus on intelligence and quickness, and a melee with a focus on agility and strength with a dash of quickness.

A breed change scroll only affects the breed. Stats that are assigned do not get changed, or rearranged when breeds are changed. Currently the only way to rearrange stat points is by [item=tincture of dissolution].

Tincture of Dissolution
Battle Item
Resets one dragon's attributes to 5 and refunds all earned stat points. Breed-related bonuses will also be refunded. (Use from the dragon's stats window in the Coliseum)
size/weight is purely cosmetic
Changing breed doesn't effect stats.
I'm back, but life is being complicated. It probably will take awhile for me to reply, because I log on irratically.

Changing your species with a scroll will NOT affect their stats.

Green stats are bonuses. If you hover over them, they will tell you where they come from. They can come from Stones and Dominance (1st place).

No, size and weight are just little statistics for fun.

I'm currently working on a fast attacker, tank dragon, and a mage dragon.

Awesome. Thank you kindly for your help, guys. I'm going to mull this over, do some research, and write this up in a few days, so if any of you have questions you want to have answered don't be afraid to post them. I'll probably miss a few important things either way so I'd appreciate any curiosities.

I have question to the element specific abilities, in my case wind. Are the gust slash and the zephyr bolt magic or physical attacks?
How can i make them effective?

bolt is magical slash is physical, this is true for all types.

I know you've mentioned changing breeds does not affect stats, but it won't change their attack style, will it? Say I change my Guardian (physical-based) into a Fae. Will he then become Magic-based with his stats reflecting an attacking build?

@Aiya
The type of attack they do is based on their battle stones. Since neither stats nor battle stones change with a breed change, you won't have to worry about that. :)
In fact if you changed the starting stones and put his stats in the right place, a fey could be a really good physical dps or even a tank. :D
