I saw in the achievement area that there's a way to restore dragons you've exalted, I wanted to know how that's possible? (also, what is a progenitor dragon?)

if you go to the sidebar, library, support, and self service you can restore exlated dragons. your progenitors are your first ever dragons you had

To be more specific, your progenitors are the dragon you customized the colors for when you signed up/made your account and the random generated dragon that came with it. Indeed your first ever dragons. They cannot be traded or sold. They can be exalted and restored at any time (unlike the only dragons exalted within the last 2 weeks and the 90 day restore cooldown applied to restoring any other dragon). Of course there's no real benefit to exalting them unless you simply don't like them or need the space, you don't get payouts for exalting them.

I believe if you've already exalted your progens a long time ago they should show up in the dragon restoration page as available to restore provided you have the space.
