@Sharkiez For a new user an easy way to make treasure is by playing the fairground games. Glimmer and Gloom is the most efficient option, you can make 75000 treasure in under 30 minutes with it. For some people it can take a while to figure out but it's worth trying :D

The Fairgrounds are a good place to start! A lot of people like Glimmer and Gloom for grinding treasure, but I personally prefer Shock and Switch.
Once you start collecting items using the Gather Items tag, you can either sell them immediately for treasure or you can list them in the Auction House for a larger profit.
Lastly, Tomo's Trivia Tablet in the Trading Post is a good way to earn some extra treasure. It might be a bit daunting at first but there's nothing wrong with guessing the answer!
