Am I doing something wrong? My material drop from Baldwin is always green. I'm newer to alchemy, and all the guides said it's 'basically random' and some such but is there a small thing I'm maybe not accounting for? I've gotten almost a down greens in a row so I'm starting to get suspicious

You'll get a green goo/ooze/sludge almost half the time from food/materials/sludge respectively. It isn't that strange to get 5 or so in a row. All you can do when that happens is keep reducing things or start looking at trading, buying, and selling the brewed materials.

In that case, here's the section of a Baldwin's Brewing guide that gives the odds of each color. It's an image heavy guide, so if you'd prefer something easier to load the unofficial wiki has the same info in a different format
