So, I want to dress my dragons up with apparel, but I have no idea where to get it.

I know I can get it from the marketplace but it's really expensive (to me) there. So I go to the auction house and there is a lot of cheaper armor but, I want to know where those people got that apparel from.

People get apparel from the marketplace and chests. Some apparel appears often in rusted chests, which are easy to get. That is why some apparel is cheaper in the AH than in the MP. Examples are linen wraps, certain colors of filigree and battlescale armor, and teardrop apparel.

However, rarer apparel like silks are more expensive on the AH because they are in high demand. They sell for a higher price on the AH than in the MP.

There is also the coliseum, but getting apparel there is much more harder. They have a lower drop rate than familiars.

There are also Swipp Swap and Baldwin's Brew, gem marketplace (expensive!) and festival. But yes the majority of apparels come from treasure marketplace or chests (rusted, iron and gilded). You can get these chest from digging or familiar bonding.

I get most of my apparels from familiar bonding chests, and marketplace when we have DOM discount. And gem marketplace ones as bundle (10% discount) or during their initial releases (20% off flash sale). After that I buy extra whenever I need.
