Lately I've been getting ad videos playing after I've been logged in for several minutes. I realize FR needs ad revenue, but it becomes too intrusive when videos start to play randomly.

I decided I don't want to get any more ads so I want to know how to block them.

Depending on the browser you use there are different addons that do the job. I have adblock plus - which also allows the blocking of images if the user chooses to - very helpful for my phobia

Judging by the most recent posts in the advertising report thread, ads that play videos aren't actually supposed to be a thing. You may want to mention in this thread that you're also getting them. Once Hiveworks gets to it, they will most likely be removed.
