Hey all!
A while ago I saw someone put a little heart symbol in their post! How did they do it? I haven't figured it out! Unfortunately I don't remember where the post was or who made it so I could ask them...
I ask because I'm trying to make solid boxes to code a color range by coloring the boxes different colors, but they keep showing up as question marks? Using the method of posting the hearts, is there any way I can achieve this without having to create an image? And is there a list of symbols supported on FR? Thanks in advance!

The easiest way I can thing of to do that would be to make a small heart image and then just link the image in the post. (Or in your case make small color box images and link that image in post. This is what I do for things like breeding ranges, I make color boxes in a program like photoshop and then upload that image to imgur so I can link it)
BBCode generally supports Unicode symbols, but the closest thing to a heart in Unicode is the letter ghan in the Georgian alphabet, which looks different enough that you'd probably notice if that's what they did (and knowing that wouldnt really help you put in your colors).

Tubermelon If you're using a computer with a number pad, the easiest way to make a heart is to hold down the alt key and push 3 on the number pad. That gives you a heart like this: ?
Edit: The 219 code for a block does seem to be turning into a question mark - but you could always try a few other symbols to see if one of them will do the trick. I think coloured hearts in a larger font size would actually be a pretty cute way to show off a range.
Edit 2: Editing a post seems to break something, because now the heart is also not working. Perhaps these codes might not be the best way to go after all - sorry for the ping, rominion!
There are lots of other standard symbols you can make with alt codes -
here is a resource to get you started (and you can copy and paste them from that page as well, if you don't have a number pad on your keyboard).

Tubermelon Do you mean ♥ this? It's ALT+3 on the numpad.

Yeah, after playing around with what Silurian said in their post, I feel like making and linking an image would be my best bet. I did try to track that post down to see if it was an image that they used, but I couldn't. Thank you for your insight!

Thank you very much for the resource!! It seems that edited posts in general cause the hearts to not show up. They work on a brand new post, but even adding them to an already edited post breaks them.
Also, it seems some of them work even after editing, and some of them don't work at all. Things like Alt+20 (¶) and Alt+21 (§) work perfectly, while more fun ones like Alt+14 and Alt+15 (and the Alt+219 in question) refuse to work at all. I didn't test them all, but I would hazard a guess and say that letters, letters with accents, and punctuation notation would work fine, symbols and fun stuff not so much.
I wonder if this is a bug... Hmm! What a mystery!

That's the one! Thank you for showing me!
It looks like I'm gunna have to resort to an image of a color range, the symbols aren't very reliable. Thank you all for your help!
