Everyone else seems to know how, so I feel really stupid for asking this, but I can't figure out how to effectively ping someone in a forum post so that it shows up in their PM or wherever it's supposed to show up.

Lyslin, no need to feel stupid, we all started out on the forums at one point!
To ping someone, all you do is what I just did for you: put someone's username after an @ symbol. You have to spell the person's name exactly right for it to work. Feel free to try it out with my name if you'd like. :)
