[center]Also known as the biggest freshwater fish. Recently I've been looking around and trying to find out more about this amazing beast of a fish, but I've found close to nothing about this sturgeon. But I have found out that they are [b]critically endangered[/b] due to extreme amounts of fishing and poaching. Look at this cutie, I know he isn't too cuddly looking. But you have to respect these creatures by the fact that they are clinging onto life despite the odds. Isn't he! He's one of the only sturgeons with a forward facing jaw! How cool is that? Predatory Sturgeons man. Amazing

Well they used to be plenty during the time of the USSR because of a protection act that was granted to them. But soon after the fall of the USSR there was an extreme boom of people fishing them for their eggs. During recent times there was another protection act that covers them but now mafia styled organizations are still poaching them.

So basically the black-market for caviar is ending them. And it doesn't help that recently the salmon around there have been harmed buy fluctuating lake temperatures.
