TOPIC | top Spotify wrapped artists of 2024?
@Rumpelstiltskin oh hell, i cant lie i havent done a proper revisit on most of his discog, haven't had the spare energy, mostly used 2 listen 2 him a bunch like a decade back. and been a mild resurgence for me in recent few years cos of the end of his hiatus coinciding w me rememberin i used 2 listen 2 him a bunch or some such. have even ended up catching him live a couple times! maybe a mild discog run is in order one of these days.

but, the most listened ones from back in the day (according to my lastfm) were lupercalia and lycanthropy, for what it's worth...! but the 2 songs ive been revisiting most in the recent year or two r from wind in the wires... the libertine and land's end. at one of his shows i caught (a solo more acoustic one) he did a cool different version of the lil song tucked at the end of land's end but i didnt record it and i still havent looked for if anyone did and has uploaded it...

"have you tried drink water"
mine were:

wonderlands x showtime
vivid bad squad
nightcord at 25:00
deco*27
and will stetson!

will stetson was a bit of a surprise but when I think about it, it makes sense since I’m pretty sure I listened to him a lot towards the start of the year :3

1. Sonata Arctica (11,918 minutes, top 0.05%)
2. Ensiferum
3. Bathory
4. Modest Mouse
5. Children of Bodom

my list has remained relatively the same throughout the last 3 years, i was surprised modest mouse managed to get past my folk metal obsession and get into my top 5 lol

Don't remember what my other 4 were but top was Orville Peck, as it usually is the last few years now.

Okay so turns out literally 95% of my Spotify listening time this year was podcasts and audio books.

So basically...
Set It Off was my most listened to band this year and it's 100% because I assigned one of their songs to a beloved OC of mine and played it like 500 times as a result. Lmao

1. femtanyl
2. Tyler, The Creator
3. Foo Fighters
4. Andrew Prahlow
5. I DON'T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME

I do love all of these artists/composers/bands but some of these I don't even remember listening to that much. It's probably because my listening across the year in general was sparse, and my sessions were often in short bursts.
